I tend to try and work out the answer, or just guess. Anyone can score 10/10 using the internet to search for the answer. I prefer to test my knowledge rather than my search skills. Reply #1. Mar 22 10, 12:55 AM |

I do both as I find by googling things I don't know I actually learn a bit more. Reply #2. Mar 22 10, 12:57 AM |

Some countries I know well enough off the top of my head. But some of the obscure stuff like highest mountains or weather patterns I google. I actually like to wiki countries because you'll almost always find some strange fact you didn't know. Reply #3. Mar 22 10, 1:27 AM |

I do use Google - mainly because I know very little about a lot of the countries - I am enjoying finding out new things though. Reply #4. Mar 22 10, 2:05 AM |

I obviously cannot take the bus ride as I'm not gold; but does no-one Bing? Reply #5. Mar 22 10, 2:56 AM |

I think the most interesting part of the bus ride quizzes is all the other interesting stuff you come across while looking for the (often) dry facts. Even for countries with which I am familiar, I don't always know the technical term for the climactic zone, or the population, or which American state is roughly the same size. But trying to work that out can lead to more interesting bits of information! In fact, I think the learning from researching is more valuable than the testing of what I happen to already have gleaned. Reply #6. Mar 22 10, 5:33 AM |

I google/wikipedia almost every questions. Sometimes I'll read a paragraph on Wikipedia and then find an answer to a question and then 3 questions later the paragraph I read contains that answer. I find it easy but have only completed 41/47 sometimes guessing doesn't work. Reply #7. Mar 22 10, 6:18 AM |

I use the wiki page if I don't think I have a chance at answering the questions myself, but I don't go beyond that page for information. Reply #8. Mar 22 10, 6:32 AM |

I'm with looney_tunes. I find that I learn a lot more from 'googling' than just the answers. For me,it's not about the points, but the knowledge about places that I wouldn't normally bother with! And taking quizzes that I might miss out on - all of the 'Bus Ride' quizzes are great! Reply #10. Mar 22 10, 8:57 AM |

Yes, I do, and I take ages sometimes as I get side-tracked when I read something I find absorbing or start looking at maps. I rarely look at Wiki - I find it more interesting to read other snippets rather than a whole list of facts. I've discovered a lot this way and I find it relaxing to play a game where speed is not essential, but there is still the opportunity to gain a badge. Reply #11. Mar 22 10, 9:04 AM |

I will guess the answer and then google. I often bookmark information and then go back later to read more. Reply #12. Mar 22 10, 9:52 AM |

I started out the first few days of the bus ride with the country's wikipedia page open for looking things up, but that got kind of tedious, and for many of the questions, I wasn't even finding answers. So I started not bothering, and I can usually get around 6 or so questions correct with my own knowledge and some guesses. I've Googled a few other questions here and there, mainly if it's going poorly and I've answered 0/4 questions correct and know I need help! Reply #13. Mar 22 10, 10:06 AM |

Sometimes I Google, sometimes I don't. Even with Googling, I don't always manage the 50% right... I don't Google EVERYTHING. I usually Google 2 or 3 answers, like capital city, highest mountain, longest river, the easily googled stuff. But I am not good enough with Google to figure out the longer questions... Some of them are weird. So I usually end up winging several questions, too. :-) Reply #14. Mar 22 10, 10:33 AM |

Knowing geography stuff is a matter of pride to me, so as a general rule, I don't look up the answers. Sometimes the questions are so obscure, yet intriguing, that I can't help but check the internet, but more often than not after submitting. Paul Reply #15. Mar 22 10, 11:40 AM |

I open the Wiki page in another tab while playing and sometimes Google also. I've found that this bus ride has really helped me on the daily and hourly quizzes. I've come across quite a few questions that I wouldn't have had a clue on otherwise. Reply #16. Mar 22 10, 3:00 PM |

I'm pretty hopeless at Geography and so I use the Wiki page occasionally. Most quizzes, however, I try and do without help, particularly if, like today, the quiz is on a country I have visited. Reply #18. Mar 23 10, 1:00 AM |

Yeah, like Snowman, I'm pretty hopeless at Geography. So I use Google. ;-) But not always. "everyone can score well researching". Not true. I research and still don't even score well. Reply #19. Mar 23 10, 7:50 AM |

So it seems to me there are two schools of thought here - wing it and test your general knowledge or google and learn more - both seem valid to me :) I'm a googler Reply #20. Mar 24 10, 2:30 AM |
