I must say that Voyager is my favorite followed closely by Next Generation. Enterprise just had too much off-color trash in it to be good. Reply #1. Feb 05 09, 10:20 PM |

My favorite is also Voyager. I usually don't watch any of the others. Reply #2. Feb 05 09, 11:19 PM |

Voyager started off well, but started to inevitably repeat plots after a few seasons. Enterprise was totally misguided, they had just started to correct all the problems when it was axed. TNG was good, but outstayed its welcome. The original series was good for its time, but looks tired now. I actually liked DS9, which is a rare choice, but the cast was good, the use of a static rather than a mobile vessel created a different dynamic and set of problems, and they seemed to explore a lot more deep stuff during its run than the other incarnations. I agree. I can't watch anything but the real Star Trek. Sequels are rarely as good as the originals. Reply #5. Feb 07 09, 11:55 PM |

At our house, we were such ingrained original Trekkies that one of our family catchphrases was 'Dammit, Jim, I'm a __________, not a _________" (we filled in the first blank with our particular areas of expertise and the second blank with whatever it was that we had been asked to do that we felt it was outside our area of expertise - as in my husband being asked to fix a switch on a reading lamp "Dammit, Jim, I'm an artist, not an electrician!" or my older son on being asked to clean out the cat box, "Dammit, Jim, I'm an animal lover, not an animal poop remover!" and so on). Of the spin-offs I preferred 'TNG' and 'Voyager' - in that order - to 'Deep Space Nine' and I thought 'Enterprise' was a complete waste of time. Reply #7. Feb 12 09, 12:35 AM |

I loved both TOS and TNG. And due to rules around language in our home, the saying was modified to, "Darn it, Jim, I'm a (insert profession here)..." Reply #8. Feb 12 09, 8:25 PM |

The original brought the television world the first interracial kiss. And who can't forget that classic "the trouble with tribbles"? Reply #10. Mar 19 09, 4:18 PM |

One of my favourite episodes on the original Star Trek was 'The Wrath of Khan', with Ricardo Montalban as the charismatic leader of a rebel group. Reply #11. Mar 23 09, 11:19 AM |

Of all the episodes of TOS, "The Trouble With Tribbles" and "Assignment: Earth" rank among my favorites. Gene Roddenberry had, in fact, earmarked "Assignment: Earth" as a possible pilot, but nothing came of it. Reply #12. Mar 23 09, 6:35 PM |

"Tomorrow is Yesterday" probably my favourite, with "Doomsday Machine" next. Btw am I the only one who prefers "ST-TMP" film to the later ones? I always thought it was a good continuity to the original TV series, even if only to confirm that whomsoever in Star Fleet confined James T. to "flying a desk" knew what he/she was doing! Reply #13. I like the "middle" Star Trek series. Not TOS, not Enterprise, but I love TNG, DS9, and Voyager. TNG was my first Star Trek, but I think DS9 may be my favorite. Though I'm not a fan of TOS, I do love the DS9 "Trials and Tribble-ations" episode. And anything Borg. "First Contact" would be my favorite ST movie. :) Reply #14. Mar 24 09, 10:02 AM |

The Nest Generation was the best and its characters grew and developed over a seven year period. The story lines, acting and production quality were the best of the Treks. Enterprise was my second favorite and, despite being shuffled around in different time slots, really hit its stride in the third season with the Xindi story arc. Reply #17. Apr 18 09, 8:41 PM |

Seeing as TOS was the Trek-series I saw last (being born in the 80s and growing up with Voyager), I haven't been able to get the Star Trek-feeling from it, odd as it may sound. I probably need to watch more of it to get into it, I haven't finished watching the first season yet. I'm also one of the few who actually loves Enterprise, but I guess it's because when it came on I hadn't watched any Star Trek series other than Voyager before, and I didn't realise when it contradicted things from the earlier series.
