Now that we know that Jon and Kate Gosselin are divorcing, should there be new episodes of the show?

No, no, a thousand times no! We need less reality TV, not more, and watching a marriage disintegrate while the children grow up with some pretty unreal expectations of what life is all about is not my idea of entertainment.

I think it should continue but their real children should be substitued with professional actor/actress children. Then that way they would be subject to all the benefits that a working actor/actress child would be entitled to.

I'm with Cym. The faster Jon & Kate disappear, the better.

I agree, cancel them. I don't know how she is going to support the bunch without a TV show to exploit the children. I think the children are the big draw anyway.

Bring it back in a year of two for an update with the real children. I wonder how many cuties Jon will have added to his collection by then. Kate and the children will survive. Jon was content to sit and reap the benefits without the work.

He already has a girlfriend.

Enough already. Surely there is something better to watch than the suffering of children caught in the middle of this entire situation.

anything for the almighty dollar. I think the show should be cancelled because mommy needs to learn the children's welfare should come before using them to make a buck. I really don't think that would make much of a differnce though, she strikes as the type of person who would look for another venue to make money off them.

This show should be canceled and should never have been on TV in the first place.

I agree 100% with Heleena--cancelled and shouldn't have been on in the first place.

I don't think it should have ever been allowed to air with such young children!

I guess I'm the only one that liked the show. No matter. I do wonder how many of the critics here, have watched more than one episode? I honestly believe Jon and Kate are good parents, who got caught up in all the hype, and celebrity.

The kids are fine. No worse off than any sibs stuck in a nasty divorce. Not a perfect situation, but I feel no malice or scorn for these people. I liked the show. I still do, and I would watch if it continued.

I agree Veronik. These 2 are raising 8 children and every part of their lives is open for all to see. I think what started out as a way to give the children a better life, skyrocketed into something neither parent could handle.
Would you like to raise 8 children with the press and the photographers following your every move? The children know they are loved. In a perfect world, they would be living with both parents - but we all know that this world of ours is far from perfect. My husband is the product of an abusive alcoholic mother as was his 6 other siblings. None of them have followed in her footsteps because they had each other. The Gosselin children have each other and I think their relationships with each other will only grow stronger. Each child knows he/she is not alone.

In the 1940's and 1950's (my early days) it was normal for families to have eight or more children. The press didn't follow them around. Most of the kids I grew up with came from big happy families. Jon and Kate chose this life and they should learn to deal with it in a way that does not damage the kids in any way. I can't believe that Jon's dating other women is real great for the kids.

I agree about the 'dating' thing, honeybee, but almost every divided family, these days, has a Mom or Dad with another partner. I don't like it much, but I still think the kids are going to be OK. There are 8 of them, and they WILL look out for each other.

The rumors about Jon are just that, don't forget.

I just hope the children are not seeing all the nonsense between the parents.

in contract i think there has to be. And i personally dont like either one of them. I feel they exploit their children etc. If their marriage was in that big of a trouble (you could almost sense it by day 1) they 1st should have never agreed to that show. Or discussed cancelling all together. Family SHOULD be most important. Not just your kids but your spouse also. I think they should have tried to work things out and i felt like they didnt even try. And here are the kids. Who can later look back on their mom and dads divorce on TV

Jon is just plain immature and Kate got to the point where she got hooked on tanning booths, flying first class, expensive hair styles, etc. The show had a lot of Kate yelling and Jon seemed to be doing a lot. He rebelled like a teenager. Shame on both of them.

I hate Jon, he's just another pyscho who ruins TV personalities' lives. And they should stop reality shows and get more game shows on the channels!

John seemed to be doing a lot? A lot of what?

Jon dressed the children, fed the children bathed the children, etc. Kate was always yelling at him. I watched the show for about two years and then she was the one that turned me against her. She is exploiting the children for money - lots of money -lots of tanning and hair appointments. She has always had help - help is not shown on screen, especially since she ordered Aunt Jodie off the show because she didn't want her paid by TLC. When it started as a documentary of a family with twins and sextuplets, it was interesting - it went downhill with the moves to better houses. Remember when the babies were very little and Kate actually went to work? Jon had a job, too but then big money came to them for each episode. Everything became very choreographed and Kate still couldn't help but being bitchy.
