The Children of earth just finished here in Australia, It played over five weeks not five days like in the UK. I thought it was a great series. Does anyone know if they are going to make anymore episodes? I hope they do.

Well, John Barrowman said he would be willing to do more if asked, but with the television demise of all but two of the regular cast it is unlikely to come back in any recognisable form. Russell T Davies and Nicola Gardner have both moved on to other things from Torchwood and Dr Who and are unlikely to go back to it (they have seldom revived defunct projects in the past), so unless the new producers of Dr Who want to do something I suspect we have seen the end of Torchwood, apart from the usual audio books, novels and internet output. It went out in all its dark glory and maybe that is the right thing to do, John Barrowman will no doubt be back as Captain Jack in the new series of Dr Who this spring.

Thanks for the information, I thought it might be the end of the show with only the two cast members left. I can only wish there will be more.

According to wikipedia, a new series was to start filming in January 2010.

They are doing casting calls apparently and have not started filming yet, John Barrowman and Eve Myles have both talked about it, it will possibly be a 13 episode run, set for the autumn schedules, but as to who the rest of the regular cast would be, who knows. Russell will be in charge, obviously Dr Who was too light and fluffy for his style and he prefers to concentrate on the darker adult humour of Torchwood. It will be fun to see what they do with it.

Just watched this for the second time, Monday to Friday this week, if no more is made they certainly went out on top. As they cannot do better then this.

I can't remember how many series of Torchwood were made, but it really was a great show. John Barrowman is just terrific.

Children of Earth was technically season 3, so the upcoming one will be listed as season 4.

This time they're picking a Dorothy for Andrew Lloyd Webber's upcoming musical production of Wizard of Oz.
The show is billed as a major part of the BBC's spring schedules, which is not good when they axe good dramas like Robin Hood instead.
John Barrowman will be suitably cringeworthy and over the top, so avoid if you still want to respect him as an actor lol.

He's probably busy with the promotion of his new shiny album, and according to several websites John is meeting with the producers of the TV program Glee with the possible outcome of him joining the cast of that show, so what does that say about Torchwood Series 4, unless the filming starts after that for Torchwood is finished. I'm confused (as usual).

John is about to join the ladies of Wisteria Drive who are desperate housewives, so tochwood series 4 is a long time off

Thanks for the link, I hope America doesn't make Torchwood, They are not very good at recreating English programs(Life on Mars), I live in hope for more English episodes.

I heard something about James Marsters (Yum!) and an American version. I've only seen "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang."

They are filming a US version of Torchwood featuring John Barrowman and Eve Myles. I believe it will be 13 episodes and will be shown exclusively on the Starz network(that is a US pay cable network)Hopefully it will be avialable on either BBC America or on DVD after that. I don't want to add another cable network to my monthly service

I really enjoyed the first series of Torchwood. Unfortunately, for me is really went down hill after that.

I loved Torchwood but if they're filming a US version I won't see it. Aside from not paying extra for Starz, I'm positive it won't be as well done as the original shows.
