She sure was a great singer. So young, only 48 years of age. What did you think of her music.

What a shame. No matter what one's musical preferences, no one can deny she was extremely talented. RIP.

We all have our problems. We don't all run away from them and find solace in a bottle of spirits or hard drugs. She had more opportunities than most of us mere mortals ever get and she threw them all away.

If I had been in her shoes, I'd have been vilified for being weak and irresponsible.

I agree with the above comments.

While she had a powerful voice early in her career, The corny, insincere songs won't be remembered.

Her early death did not surprise me. Such an incredible voice/life ruined by drugs.

I agree with SisterSeagull's comments regarding the boozing and drugging, and I just feel it's such a shame that another God-given talent such as this, ended the way it did.

I don't, however, agree with Redwaldo that Whitney Houston's "corny, insincere" songs will not be remembered. I'm in my mid-fifties, and those songs still strike a chord with me, as they do with millions of other people.

What a waste of talent. I guess she had more than her 15 minutes.

I agree with comments 1 & 2, a timely dose of reality.

I don't totally agree with those statements. Alcoholism and drug addiction are diseases. True, they start with bad decisions but by the time it gets as bad as this, the person has lost all control. They need the help of others and famous people like her are always surrounded by 'yes men' who are afraid (for their own selfish reasons) to make any waves. I blame dirtbags like that more than the addict.

Thanks! I was about to continue your list of crummy Libs but I figure I've 'made enough waves'.
