Undercooked or raw eggs (hence my disparaging remarks about steak tartare!). Anything with almond essence, can't stand the smell. Artichokes. Sauces from a packet or jar. Reply #3. Sep 22 07, 5:37 PM |

Have no need for falafel. Meat on a stick is pretty gruesome too - corn dog anyone? Reply #5. Sep 24 07, 6:55 AM |

Liver....yuck! I can't stand the looks or the smell. I don't like any organ meat at all. I hate anything too rare also. I can't eat if I see blood on my plate. Reply #6. Sep 24 07, 7:49 AM |

cauliflower. I had a pickle relish once that I hated, and couldn't figure out why until I read the ingredients - cauliflower filler. Yuck. Reply #7. Sep 24 07, 8:00 AM |

I think I would most dislike to eat something that was still moving. That and perhaps mammalian brains as I am not in the mood to get v-CJD (human form of "mad cow.") Reply #9. Sep 27 07, 3:19 PM |

We have many 'delicacies' in the US South. One I have trouble with is chitterlings (chitlins) which are animal hog intestines. I worked as a grocery clerk when I was a kid and we had a sale on them, oh boy! Needless to say I can still smell them to this day. I'll take the raw eggs or seafood any day. Reply #14. Well, there's GOOD tuna like ahi (yellowfin tuna) but the tuna that comes in a can, I can NOT see how anyone can eat that crap. The smell is TERRIBLE. Plus, it looks like it was processed even more than the Mc"Rib" (NOT made from meat by the way) at Mcdonalds. I love eating fish like wahoo, snapper, salmon, halibut, ahi tuna, but that canned tuna stuff is vile. Reply #15. Sep 28 07, 1:52 PM |

rxbigdawg, before I went to Louisiana,my sister-in-law told me she was going to feed me squirrel, mudbugs, (crawdads) and mudpie. The mudpie was great, but I said no thanks to the others. Reply #16. Sep 28 07, 2:49 PM |

"For me it has to be tripe" That reminds me of my brother when we went to France. He was showing off and ordering in French - thought he had ordered "entrecote" (steak). We all got our meals and he got, apparently, an appetizer that looked a bit like a strange stew. He ate it and liked it, but he was still waiting for his steak. Finally he decided to investigate and found out that he had ordered - and eaten - tripe. (Don't ask me how that sounds like entrecote.) Just goes to show you - he didn't know what it was and he liked it. Same with my son - when he was about 3 we had liver (yes it is good if you cook it right). He was curious and we told him it was steak. He ate some and liked it, until his big sister told him it was liver - then he didn't want any more. Finally, Haggis - I had heard all the horror stories, so when I was invited to Robby Burns Night I had some trepidations, but it's not bad! Of course this comes from the person who eats steak tartare and liver :-). Reply #18. Sep 28 07, 9:37 PM |
