I used to, with a kid's kit, when I was like 7, but I want to take it up so that I have something else to do with my hands while sitting on the couch, instead of eating!

All the women in our family knit.. some better than others, but all of us knit.
My grandmother used to knit toys all year round and donate them to a Christmas charity appeal, and my mum knits for her ever increasing mob of great grandies...
my main knitting project these days is barbie doll clothes for my grand daughter and her friends !

Yes I love knitting, it's just hard finding the time to do it. I've tried to get my two daughters interested but not much success with that.

I knit - nothing fancy like fair isle or complicated patterns, just scarves, mitts and toques. I find that knitting helps to keep arthritic hands from seizing up.

One of my great-aunts was a professional knitter. She created the most beautiful handknits and a very chi-chi shop in Knightsbridge in London sold her creations. She designed her own patterns and knit everything from shawls to sweaters to dresses. She made my first figure skating outfit (jacket, skirt and leggings) for me when I was ten. Someone out there may have inherited one of her handknits from her mother or grandmother. The label was 'Handknit by Laura'.

I used to knit a long time ago but now I mostly crochet. I tried to pick up knitting again not too long ago. I seemed to do fine until I had to pearl a row and somehow I kept dropping a stitch. I tried about a million times but could never figure out what I was doing so I finally gave up.

It's one of my favourite needlecrafts. I was taught when I was 4 years old and have been knitting for over 40 years

I love to knit; I find it very cathartic. If I am stressed about something, I will knit for hours on end. I find it very funny that knitting is" fashionable" again. I hope it goes out of fashion; I can't help but think that knitting's newfound trendiness has contributed to the skyrocketing prices of wool.

I do my own spinning (most of the time), but it's still a very expensive hobby.

I love knitting and have recently got back into crochet.
I agree the price of good wool is incredible. Never make anything big anymore - its cheaper to buy.

Funky socks are my favourite thing to make. It's a regular pre-winter gift everyone gets a new pair (provided they show me the worn out ones!)

I used to always have some knitting on the go. I've made several sweaters, including an Aran one (in double knitting yarn) and an Argyll one. I was taught the basics of knitting at school when I was about 8 yrs old, and learned more complex stuff from my mother. I never enjoyed sewing it all up, though.

The last garment I knitted was a sweater for my daughter when she was about 5. She is now 22 and the knitting still sits in the cupboard waiting to be sewn up!

Love knitting and crochet. I'm sort of between projects at the moment so slightly frustrated. (What am I meant to do while I'm watching TV?!)

Just finished some knee-warmers for my grandparents to keep them comfy at night time. They were somewhat doubtful but have conceded that it does help them sleep at night with knee-warmers on.
