I enjoy the Religious ones that involve Christianity. Sci-Tech, History, and Children minus the Harry Potter stuff. Reply #2. Nov 22 08, 9:03 AM |

I enjoy Animals, probably the most. I also find a lot of TV catagories (mostly older) that I like. In the GC I always do the same ones in the same order: Sci-Tech Humanities Hobbies Animals General Reply #3. Nov 22 08, 2:54 PM |

In the GC I do the same ones in the same order too: General, Humanities, Sci/Tech, Religion and Music. Then comes Impossible - close eyes and hope for the best. I enjoy the brain teasers, and look forward to the daily Brain Twist. Reply #4. Nov 22 08, 4:19 PM |

I rarely do the Impossible, because someone said it brings down your score, if you do badly...And I always do badly! You would think, even guessing every one, you'd get a couple right? No. Reply #5. Nov 22 08, 11:39 PM |

Veronika, as far as I know having a bad score only diminishes your GC rating: the indication of how you do compared to other players, which does not matter for your progress through the divisions. Progress through the divisions is cumulative, so even if you do badly on Impossible you still get points added toward graduation. Now as for my favorite categories, also determined by my GC choices with commentary: - General: gets tough at the end, but I can usually get by. It's a good category for 15/15s in the first few divisions. - For Children: I know all the HP questions but do worse at Pokemon, Trixie Belden and some other books and (American or British) tv shows. - Humanities: favorites are word meaning and spelling questions. Major handicap: I'm only superficially acquainted with some of the best known musicals.. - Religion: It helps having a Christian background and having to learn all the books of the OT by heart. Troubles start with non-standard bible books and hinduist people.. - Sci/tech: not a great science buff but I've picked up some history of science from my philosophy education, some bones from ER, some biology from my brother, and most of the other stuff from Discovery Channel. - Impossible: not incidentally included, because I like the kind of game where every answer you get right is a bonus. - Brain Twist: really like those too, especially when they do require some thinking but aren't too hard. Geography and History, Languages and Linguistics, Science. For Global Challenge the first two and then whichever are bonus categories, unless they happen to be sport, which is a closed book. The impossible is just that, then the brain tease is challenging but worth the points. Reply #7. Nov 25 08, 7:16 PM |

"Musicals," as well as RPG are my absolute worst! I don't know why I continue to play Humanities...But I do. Reply #8. Nov 25 08, 10:49 PM |

I enjoy Humanities, but also fail at the musicals! They can really bring a good score down! I play impossible, and my best score is 12/15 in 13 seconds! Absolutely amazing guesswork! Reply #9. Nov 25 08, 10:58 PM |

This is the first time for a while that I've done the GC in "normal" mode, not "hardcore". I usually do Animals, General, Hobbies, Humanities and Religion (in that order, because that's the order they come!) I usually start with Impossible, though, just to get it over with. And the Brain Twist, of course. Reply #13. Dec 01 08, 3:01 PM |

I forgot to mention that I also like the Word Wizard. I went off it for a while, but now that you get 10 points per correct answer, there is more of an incentive to play! Reply #14. Dec 01 08, 3:05 PM |

Brain teasers and general. It does not matter what your quiz score is, it matters how much you learned! Reply #15. Dec 08 08, 9:23 PM |

I agree King of All, but for me For children (except for Harry Potter, I've seen the movies, never read a book) General, Sci/Tech and Hobbies, maybe Entertainment Reply #16. Jan 03 09, 1:42 PM |

Geography, Religion and History are my favorites and I do OK with them. (I am terrible at Entertainment since I don't watch television, go to movies or listen to popular music.) Reply #17. Jan 03 09, 5:46 PM |

Movies and music for me. The music quizzes are often misleading just reading the caption under the title, not specific enough. I also like history quizzes although I haven't played nearly as many. Reply #18. Jan 06 09, 11:18 AM |
