Artistic license. At least, I think so. Reply #1. May 22 09, 1:10 AM |

I don't really care much for Dobby anyways... I just hope they make Fred's death awsome... he deserves respect. Reply #2. May 28 09, 11:39 AM |

If changes, from the book, are made for the movie, it will be with Rowling's say so. She has made it clear that any thing relating to Harry Potter must have okay first. Reply #3. Jun 30 09, 12:22 PM |

I don't think that it would be a good idea. Reply #4. Jul 01 09, 11:57 AM |

At least they decided to include Dobby instead of replacing his role with real actors like in the other movies. Reply #6. Aug 18 09, 2:21 AM |

Doesn't Dobby die at Shell Cottage, which is at the seaside, in the book? He is stabbed in Malfoy Manor, but he doesn't die until Harry has Apparated to Shell Cottage. Reply #7. Jun 13 10, 11:44 AM |

First: Alex, you are correct, but maybe that's what dave meant. Second: I'm fine with minor changes like this. It's the MAJOR ones that I take issue with. Like lighting the weasley's house on fire in number six! What's that about? And basicaly giving away at the end that Snape is good! It's those things that anoy me. Reply #8. Jun 13 10, 3:58 PM |

So you mean Dobby is now stabbed at the seaside too? I don't get it? I don't like when major plots change, as said before, like The Burrow being burned down in HP6 (especially as it features in HP7), but this is what happens when the authors sign off all the rights to the filmmakers! I think they should respect the original work more, but actually, some things work better in the movie than in the book. :) Reply #9. Jun 14 10, 8:55 AM |

The thing about movies I hate most is when they change the story. The Harry Potter movies aren't too bad with the changes, but stuff like 'Fantastic Mr Fox' really bothers me. Dobby didn't deserve to die, and moving his death is just adding insult to injury. Reply #10. Jun 25 10, 10:59 AM |
