Subject: Any HP Dissapointments?

Did anyone not like one of the books, but love the others? If so, which one was it?

Mine was The Goblet of fire. I didn't like it much, and I have no idea why. And that makes me think that perhaps, one of these days, I will reread it and find out just why, perhaps I will find no reason for disliking it at all!

Goblet of Fire was my least favourite too... like you I'm not entirely sure why. My biggest Harry Potter disappointment is the number of deaths in the final book and of course the films which can never hope to reach the same standard as the books.

That's interesting, The Goblet of Fire was my favorite, followed by the last book. I didn't care for the Order of the Phoenix much other than the fight in the Ministry and I was disappointed by the movie version. But I understand that there is so much detail in the books that the movie versions are always going to disappoint.

I really disliked The Order of the Phoenix the first time I read it. I guess it had to do with the fact that for me, every new book was better than the previous, and I had really high expectations for the fifth. However when I re-read it (this time with extremely low expectations) I quite enjoyed it.

I also don't mind much for the romance parts in the books, Rowling is a much better author when it comes to the adventure/action parts of her novels.

I was quite bored with the first pages of the Goblet of Fire, the Quidditch match was too long and I am not particularly interested in any sports including Quidditch.

A lot of people say that number 7 was the best, hmmmmm, I found the scenes in the forest less interesting than those in Hogwarts or anywhere else.

I loved the Order of the Pheonix! I had deep interest in every book, except for the sorcer's stone and the goblet.

I'm surprised to see that so many dislike GoF, it's my favorite book in the series.

I think GoF was a problem becasue it was used by JKR to advance plot for the series and not tell a real contained story in itself. OotP has a bit of that as well, but she made the book extra-long so that she could do both functions.

My biggest disappointment is that they get further and further from the books with each movie. It was everything in me not to walk out of "Order of the Phoenix".

The third movie with the new, angry Dumbledore, new set and new director.

Well, my least favourite was Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix..... Harrry wasnt himself in Book 5. I don't know why but The Goblet of Fire didn't seem like JK Rowlings writing at all to me - I dont know why! Its weird because Goblet Of Fire was my favourite movie....

No HP dissapointments at all, apart from the movies. The third task of the GoF in the movie was the bit I almost fell asleep in! P.S. Why does no-one like Gof? :(

Some scenes in the Half-Blood Prince were weird - the Burrow burning down and the man-hunt in the grass made no sense to me. And Ginny doing Harry´s shoe up! Ginny would never do that.

The Burrow burning down didn't make much sense to me either. They have to cut out a lot from the books to fit a film, so why stick in an extra scene?

I agree. I mean, what'll happen in Deathly Hallows?
Where will the wedding be?
And yeah, Ginny would never be so ... girly in the book.
And correct me if I'm mistaken, but in the HBP movie, did we ever hear that Ginny broke up with Dean.
Cause they were about to kiss in the Burrow scene.
