1 can't be boxing. In the fights I have seen on tv, they tell us what the judges scored for each fighter after each round. Add those up and we know who is in the lead.

OK, all good so far.
Anton, according to what I was given, the answer to 1 is boxing.

So.. no one has guessed # 8 yet... it's a fairly common vegetable, too.

But you don't BUY lettuce stir-fried, Honeybee. You only buy it fresh, and stir-fry it yourself. :-)

You are right Salami-Swami, but I do buy processed lettuce all the time.

HB, you're right that lettuce is processed in the sense that it is washed and perhaps chopped or shredded; but it is always fresh. Never is it processed in the sense that it is cooked, frozen, or otherwise preserved. Heck, I don't even know of any other way lettuce can be used, besides fresh. You can't even deep fry it properly, I don't think!
