Subject: Funniest movie you've ever seen?

Posted by: Cymruambyth

The funniest film I've ever seen is 'The Wrong Box', which had an all-star cast including Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, Peter Sellars, Irene Handle, Ralph Richardson, John Mills, Michael Caine and Nanette Newman. Every time I see it I end up rolling on the rug laughing.

Other wonderfully funny films:

'Bedazzled' (the Peter Cook and Dudley Moore version, not the later effort starring Elizabeth Hurley which was too lame for words);
'How to Steal a Million' (Peter O'Toole, Audrey Hepburn, Huw Griffith, Charles Boyer);
'Kind Hearts and Coronets' (Alec Guinness played just about everybody in the film).

What's on your list?

Dumb and Dumber. My face hurt when I first saw it in the theaters.

Caddyshack, without a doubt. One of those guilty pleasures I'll never tell my grandkids about (I expect them to discover its awesomeness on their own).

For me it's "Liar, Liar" with Jim Carrey. His face is like rubber. I can't stop laughing no matter how many times I see it.

Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor get me going, too.

Tenacious D the movie was amazingly funny. Just the way Jack Black gets into it is mind blowing.

"The Jerk" starring Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters makes me laugh every time. I also like "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", another Steve Martin movie costarring Michael Caine.

Any of the Leslie Neilsens.. but top of them would be Flying High.. my brother and I, on the rare occasions when we get together, recite chunks of it to each other !
