Lol, as far as I'm concerned, the best version was done by Mr Magoo :) I think imagination has gone by the wayside, and so, they have to keep remaking the good ones. Reply #1. Nov 04 09, 3:30 PM |

The best version was Bill Murray's Scrooged. Jim Carrey is no Bill Murray. Reply #2. Nov 04 09, 4:19 PM |

I prefer the Patrick Stewart version, understated and English. :D Reply #3. Nov 04 09, 4:26 PM |

I will always go with the Alister Sims portrayal. It certanily speaks highly of the story to have so many takes on it. Bill Murrays comedic and modernized version was good. From the commercials I fear this animated take on the story will not do a good job at representing the story. Reply #4. Nov 04 09, 4:31 PM |

Another slick, stop-motion film from Bob Zemeckis. With Jim Carrey providing the majority of the voices, I think I will pass on this one. I saw the trailer for this flick, and it was visual overload. Everyone has a favourite version of this film, and mine is the 1984 TV movie, starring George C. Scott. A close second would have to be "A Flintstone's Christmas Carol". I have very highbrow tastes in movies... Reply #5. Nov 04 09, 4:33 PM |

I love all versions of "A Christmas Carol" and I will see this one also. I like George C. Scott's and Alister Simms portrayals of Scrooge as the best so far. Reply #6. Nov 05 09, 2:54 PM |

One of my Christmas rituals is watching the 1951 version of 'A Christmas Carol' starring Alastair Sim. In my view it's the best of all the versions. Reply #7. Nov 13 09, 12:43 AM |

I like the musical version with Albert Finney. That was clever. I like George C. Scott's version as well. There is an important lesson to be learned from "A Christmas Carol." People will never remember the good things you do, only the bad ones. Reply #8. Nov 14 09, 4:19 PM |

Jim Carrey is to much of a comedian to make this go very far. I think Dickens' version of "A Christmas Carol" was probably the best telling of the story your going to get. Everytime they make a movie adaption of a book they always screw it up. Just my opinion. Reply #10. Jan 01 10, 10:49 AM |
