Dose using a laptop slow your speed down? My speed is about half of others, mine is wireless.

A laptop, per se, should not slow you down.

But given the smaller screens, a perhaps inconsistent wireless connection, and the more-cumbersome scrolling devices employed, yes, for sure you are going to be slower.

I use a laptop when traveling and always use a mouse when possible, otherwise using that touch pad would easily add 10-15 seconds per game.

I agree with Mike. Invest $20 in a mouse. It will help -- except for the Fill Me In, where using the Tab is faster than scrolling, and hitting Enter when you are finished.

I also see that you are fairly new -- just two months. You will find that the longer you are on FT, and the more games you play, the faster you'll get.

Have fun :-)

Add some RAM to your laptop and it should be faster. But it might cost some money.

A mouse is essential, I only use my laptop for FT and I find when I get the opportunity to use a desktop I find it cumbersome- it's all about getting used to things as they are.

I have an antique Toshiba laptop that must cost me ten seconds per game. I don't have a mouse. I just continue to use it as almost all change is change for the worse. At least I know how this thing works.

I disagree - a mouse is not necessary. If you've been using a mouse all along, then yes, at first you'll be slower with a touchpad. But I love my touchpad now, and I'm so used to it, I'm much slower with a mouse.

You're right, It's what you get used to,I tried changing to a mouse and I had to go back to a touchpad.

A lap top is easie for me to use, it does not slow my internet connection down. As for the mouse, I cannot use one because I cannot see too well. I just use the key board to navigate around the computer. The touch pad would be such a hassle for me, even a desktop mouse would be an issue. I could stilll type fast on my laptop and take it to andd from school.

I can't stand laptops. I hate that built-in mouse and the tiny keyboard, so I'm going to stick with my desktop PC. Since I no longer work for anyone but myself, I can forgo the joy (?) of being able to access files while travelling!

When I'm travelling I'll often 'drop in' to check on FT - just to make sure everyone is playing nicely! ;)

I went to a wireless mouse a while ago because I Really Don't Like lap top pads at all but the lappie is a necessary evil - and I also use the same wireless mouse with my Mac because the supplied mouse keeps running away! Can play as fast then as at home.
Very Important when I'm still trying for Immortality! :D

Sometimes my laptop becomes slow, so if it does I leave it for 5 minutes and it returns to normal.
