Yes, for sure, if i can benefit anybody in any way after i die, after all,it's of no use to me where i am going, where ever that may be. I consider it an honor for someone to use my organs to help others. I would even donate a kidney or a lung now to help someone if i was compatible, no question asked. Reply #2. Mar 13 12, 4:57 PM |

Since I was the (most grateful) recipient of someone else's aortic valve in 1997, the rest of me has become unusable. I can't even give blood. Last week I sold my car for parts, though. I don't think that counts but it's the best I can manage. Reply #3. Mar 13 12, 5:29 PM |

Yes, I've signed the forms. But more importantly, I've made sure that my family know my wishes. Apparently, doctors still need the permission of next of kin. If any part of me can help someone else when I've finished with it, please, be my guest! Reply #5. Mar 13 12, 7:15 PM |

I have a card in my wallet which testifies that I have signed on to the Australian Organ Donor Register. My understanding however is that it means diddly-squat as any family member can refuse to allow my wishes to be carried out. Reply #6. Mar 17 12, 5:15 PM |

Yep! I know this can be a bit of an emotional one for some people (and religious for others) but I personally think people should have to opt out, rather than opt in to be a donor. Reply #7. Mar 19 12, 7:19 AM |

Dunno about organ donation. My head says yes, it all makes sense, but what if the Jehovah Witnesses are right, and when the holy ghost blows up your nose and raises you from the dead to walk the earth again, it wouldn't be much fun without a heart, lungs, eyes, kidneys, pancreas... ..... etc. I really need to weigh things up here.
