Ravenclaw Ravenclaw values intelligence, creativity, wit, and wisdom. "Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure" is an oft-repeated Ravenclaw proverb.[HP5][HP7] The house mascot is an eagle, the house colours are blue and bronze. According to Rowling, Ravenclaw corresponds roughly to the element of air. The common room is round and filled with blue hangings and fat armchairs and has a domed ceiling painted with stars. Harry also notes that, by day, the Ravenclaws "would have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains." A logical riddle must be solved in order to gain entry, whereas the Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin common rooms only require a password. Reply #24. Apr 24 09, 6:18 PM |

Ravenclaw - I'm a book person and (in the least conceited way possible) am known to be fairly smart. If I turned out too dumb to gain entry then I'd have to say Hufflepuff as I value my friends above much else. Reply #29. Jul 31 09, 12:51 PM |

I always thought Ravenclaw and used to get that result whenever I came by a new virtual sorting hat, but the last time I was sorted into Slytherin, with a very good and spot on reason why. So, somewhere in between those two I guess. Reply #30. Jul 31 09, 12:54 PM |

Ravenclaw, with a Hufflepuff a close second. And probably more likely Slytherin that Gryffindor, but I'm positive I'd be in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff before Slytherin, so it's really a moot point. Reply #38. Nov 11 09, 10:06 PM |

Oh, and doublemm—Ravenclaw is the house primarily for those who value knowledge. :) Trivia nuts certainly seem to! Reply #39. Nov 11 09, 10:08 PM |

Ravenclaw with Gryffindor as a close second. I am very brave and loyal, but my defining quality is probably wit. Reply #40. Nov 12 09, 5:39 PM |
