Last thing ALV wrote was this: "I was just driving along the road he died on a couple days ago." Does that mean "I was just driving along the road a couple days ago." or "he died a couple days ago"? Reply #55. May 18 09, 5:55 PM |

To many over 60s grandpa Ivor Mairants was a pioneer in guitar playing and teaching, and his books still cover half the world although he died aged 89 in 1998. I've posted quite a bit about him in the past as each time I do someone else comes up who has followed a part of his career. It's good to see him annually (or more) playing the guitar in Battle of the River Plate, although he was in a few others this one is on the most. Now maybe one day my relatives will be telling people they're related to me. I'm trying hard enough to make it! Reply #57. May 18 09, 6:05 PM |

Lesley, I think he was talking about James Dean. Every time we leave the valley to go to the coast, we have to pass the James Dean Memorial. I don't know where Anton La Vey lives, except I think he lives in California. Reply #58. May 18 09, 7:10 PM |

Judy, he has got California in his profile. There must be any number of people called James who have died on California roads. James Kim died only a few years ago when he went to get help for his wife and daughters who were stranded in their car. They were saved and he was found a couple of days later. But James Kim became famous because of his needless death. James Dean would have been famous whatever he did. I think we are forced to assume that James Dean is ALV's famous relative, until and unless he comes back and tells us otherwise. Reply #59. May 19 09, 4:03 AM |
