Hi everyone. I wasn't going to do this but I discovered I missed it.

Mom's woodworking items did fairly well for a small event. I may take some next year, we haven't decided if we're going.
Jason and I got almost 40lbs+ of pears for free from Craigslist. They weren't as well received at Mom's house as I thought they'd be. We canned most of them and made preserves out of the last of them. Mom and Dad said we had enough jelly so they threw the peels and cores out. Mom got some plums from her boss and made three batches of plum jam and pulled all the currants out of the freezer to make jelly. This was an amazing year for the backyard produce!

I have this incredible urge to tell people exactly what I think. I don't know if it's the seasons changing or if it's my general pessimism.

It's good to hear your garden is growing and producing so well, Rayven.
Gives me some added incentive for this year.
I've plans for jam and pickles and all sorts of goodies - jars are ready, so all I need is to fill them and store them - some.where. while I'm house hunting - should be a snap!

I understand your urge completely, and discovered I can say anything I want, if I phrase it correctly. :)

Thanks Marchhare.
I've listened to friends talk about house hunting. It sounds wonderful and difficult at the same time.
You were smarter than we were this year. You got the jars first.

I stayed up late today because my cousins from Montana were here visiting their daughter and her family. They came over to my parents house to get her bike and adjust it some and they made dinner. My sister came over and had us look at her powerpoint presentation she put together for an interview.
Every time I go up when they are here I leave with the feeling that I'm about half a hair above pond scum. I made it to the car before I started crying this time and every time I think that I just won't go next time but then I'd have to try and explain myself to a bunch of people who just don't understand.
Next weekend their son is coming down and I think he's bringing his girlfriend. The last time he was down he told us that he was going to bring her and asked that I not scare her. It hurt my feelings and made me angry so I have no intention of going at all. I'm sure I'll have to, if only for a little while so that again, I don't have to explain myself to people who just don't get it.

Maybe it's me. Maybe I just take things wrong.

Or maybe you're right and they just don't get it!

You have to be yourself and it's a rotten feeling when there are people who make you feel that is wrong.

Hugs, Rayven. :) ((()))

If the filly is that skittish, her own shadow probably frightens her.

Stop sheading tears over it. If you don't respect them, their opinions shouldn't hurt you. They sure aren't showing much respect to you or your family or the fact they are GUESTS!

Thanks for the responses!

I have three cousins who are all engaged. The two girls are engaged to very nice guys and both couples have been together for years. The male is engaged to someone he's known for 8 months and nobody has met.
Both the girls are having princess weddings, or as close to it as they can come. I haven't heard anything on the male yet.
My sister is helping plan the oldest girls parties and wedding. I'm glad for that because my wedding is probably going to be a pot luck in my parents back yard. My sister and I are also complete opposites so our ideas would clash badly. This gives my sister an outlet she won't get with me.

I have a bad habit of babbling when I'm in a group of people. I don't know if it's nerves or some strange way of trying to fit in, but I tend to talk a lot. Then later I feel like an idiot because I babble. I will rethink conversations and feel like a fool for things I said or should have said.

A month or so ago my aunt sent an e-mail to everyone saying that my uncle wasn't well, but that everything would be fine and not to worry. Today she sent an e-mail that he's under hospice care. We've never been close to them but I feel bad and don't know what to do to help. They don't need money and they live far away, so cooking or cleaning isn't an option.

Princess wedding are all very pretty, but I think a wedding should always reflect the bride, and be a great big party as well, Rayven.

I'll share your Babbling in Company Syndrome. Someone has to be the one talking or everyone else just stands looking around but some.one had to break the ice. :)

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. Maybe contacting your aunt so she knows you're thinking about her, or sending notes? I think not being able to physically contribute feels inadequate.

I sent my aunt a note, just the basic "If there's anything I can do". Just waiting stinks.

I took my dog to the vet because she wasn't eating well. She may have a mass on her kidney or spleen. More tests will tell us more.

The cat has developed a love affair with a piece of weed eating line. She will bring it to me no matter what part of the house I'm in and demand playtime.

Waiting is hard.
I hope your dog is ok - such a worry the furkids.

Cats are funny when they want to play fetch.

A friend's Burmese appropriated a toy stuffed seal, I think it was a McDonalds toy, and carried that around when she was cross. Other times it was fetch with a dressing gown cord!

I love cats that play fetch! People who have never seen it think it's a strange idea for anything other than a dog to fetch.
A kitty with a seal, that'd be cute.
Thanks for responding MarchHare.

Yes, the seal kitty looks very cute when she's cranky. Makes a point of walking up to her nearest human and depositing the seal at their feet, before looking done on them (from floor level the way only a cat can do) and stalking off in a huff.

I like to hear what you're up to Rayven. :)

We've decided not to take Oona for surgery. Our breeder friend looked at her papers and she's actually 10, not 8 like I thought. Surgery on her would be dangerous.

Fall has taken hold on the land and in my heart finally. I don't like fall and I detest winter. But I like to bake, and build fires in the stove and I can't do that in the summer. Today will be the nicest day in the next week or two so I'll try and clean out part of the garden and plant the garlic. There is something about fall that makes me want to read "Harry Potter" again.

I hope everyone is well. Have a happy day!

I understand why my dad doesn't vote. I do because I view it as someone asking for my opinion, and I do love to give my opinion. But voting never really changes anything.

Nostalgia is hitting me hard this holiday season and I have no idea why.I'd give a lot to be 7 years old again. I'm also having a very hard time getting into anything resembling the Christmas spirit. I volunteered to work Christmas morning, figuring I'd get the day after off. I had to fight it out with my managers to make it happen but at least I won't have to miss out on much of Christmas. Credit card company called to help me work out a payment plan so that's an improvement. I told Dad we need to come up with a better way of doing things, I just don't have the faintest idea where to start.

Happy Holidays to everyone and I hope everyone is well.
