You need to seriously take a gander at some movies made before 2000.

OK, I'm glad this wasn't supposed to be a definitive list, because there are quite a few red flags: the Fast and the Furious trilogy, Norbit, Meet Dave (neither of which make Eddie Murphy's top 100 movies, and I don't know if he's made 100 movies), Failure to Launch, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Elizabethtown, Not Another Teen Movie, Scary Movie, Die Hard 4, Rambo 4, and War of the Worlds stick out.

Where are:
No Country For Old Men
The Hurt Locker
Slumdog Millionaire
Snatch
Jason Bourne trilogy
Ocean's Eleven
Equilibrium
Crash
Hotel Rwanda
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
The Road
Inglourious Basterds
Memento
The Wrestler
Batman Begins/Dark Knight
Downfall (Der Untergang)
Hero
The Pianist
Children of Men

And that's just from my top 50 movies (I have a personal top 100 of all time)

Quite the exhaustive list, wwe84, good job compiling them all. I was curious as to your #13 movie, 'Avator', did you mean 'Avatar', or 'Aviator', but then I realized that you listed year of release as 2009, so I guess you meant the former. 'The Aviator', the Scorsese-DiCaprio film from about 5 years ago, may have been the last movie I sat all the way thru, I'm sorry to say that I don't think I've seen more than a handful of this past decade's movies...

I wish I could understand this list. I know it is purely one person's opinion, but how in the world does someone have three Fast and the Furious movies, and 12 Rounds in the top 10 and have Training Day way down there at #96?

Unless I'm mistaken (happens often) all the films in the list after #41 are in alphabetical order. So maybe they're all in equal 42nd place?

Anyway one has to ask where are Clerks 1 & 2, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle/Get The Munchies, H & K Escape From Guantanamo Bay and other such classics?

Hate to be a spoilsport, but 'Godfather 3' is from the '90s. Good movies that you list, 'Last Tango in Paris' sticks out like a sore thumb though...

oh god, I hope that's not in any order. There is no way you can rate Training Day and Sin City in the 90s and put Vin Diesel movies in the 10 ten. That's like putting American Ninja 7 or Plan 9 From Outer Space over the Godfather and Platoon.

I gotta agree with illiniman.

I am pretty sure Meet Dave and Norbit are the first two movies the National Film Registry decide to have burned rather than preserved.

Kinda like what trojan and I were talking about geologic time, there is a definitive split in eras there: Eddie Murphy funny/Eddie Murphy not-funny. Somewhere about mid-1990s. Think Distinguished Gentleman was his last decent film and that still didn't hold a candle to Trading Places or 48 hrs.

And martin_cube is right, Kevin Smith movies deserve to be on that list. Especially Clerks.

And what the hell is The Departed not doing on that list? That movie blows doors on just about every movie on that top 100.

Die Hard 4? Really?

Sorry man, just drastically different opinions going on here...

I thought Martin was joking because he called the second Harold and Kumar and Clerks 2 classics.
