Anything involving young metropolitan types or associated with the word reality. Any show remotely associated with the word talent AND Pretty much anything made by or broadcast by the History channel. I don't watch soap operas personally but they do perform a valuable social function. I think British soap operas are pretty gritty compared to many and they rarely shy away from uncomfortable issues and encourage those viewers affected by them to seek advice or help. Reply #23. I stopped watching soaps many years ago, I realised I was watching a funeral (one of many) of somebody I didn't know, never will because they didn't even exist. Years ago we had seth, dingles (Emmerdale) ogdens, jack & vera (corrie) all great comedy actors, now or at least the last time I watched a soap it was all death and disease. Reply #24. Oops, that should be Trash TV. Duranhos, I beg to disagree about the US comedy shows being better than the Brit comedy shows. Are you aware that some of the most iconic U.S.comedy shows are the American version of Brit comedies? 'All in the Family' springs to mind. It has its roots in " 'Til Death Do Us Part'. Norman Lear knew a good thing when he saw it! Reply #28. Oct 19 23, 9:43 AM |
