Who is your favourite regeneration of The Doctor?

For me, it would have to be Tom Baker or David Tennant.

Tom Baker back in the days when the walls shook when the doors closed. David Tennant by a mile overall.

The one and only Orginal Doctor, William Hartnell, i feel the new Doctor peter Capaldi will be a lot like him

The Czech TV decided to broadcast Doctor Who for the first time in about 50 years! So, I still donĀ“t know who is my favourite doctor, but I will follow it as many people on FT, who I respect, are fans. I wonder.

They decided to name it "The Lord (or the Master)of the Time". Huh. Unfortunately, Doctor Who sounds ridiculous when translated into my language.

I'm with professer, that's the one I saw first and although a few of the others were very good they are second to the ideal version. I don't think it's just because he was first, but who I'd see the Doctor to be most like. Jon Pertwee was good as was Tom Baker, it all went a bit downhill after that.

Tom Baker was the first Doctor I saw and is a definite favorite as are some of his companions. However, I later got to see some of the earlier ones and loved Jon Pertwee. Can't choose between those two. First one had the edge and then the other. Depends probably on which reruns I have most recently watched, lol.

I've only seen the revival and a few of the classic episodes and the movie, so I feel like I only have four to choose from. Fortunately, I like them all--McGann, Eccleston, Tennant, and Smith. I like different aspects of each of them and how they play the same character: McGann's gentleness, Eccleston's straight talk and subtle quirkiness, Tennant's insanity, cleverness, and fierceness, and Smith's utter joy with the world (his response to Rory not having a Christmas list: "I DO!!!!"). So I really can't and don't want to choose. I would maybe give the edge to Tennant (and he was the one I took the longest to accept as the Doctor), because of the character's range of emotions and Tennant's acting, plus overall, I liked his stories and companions best. I like Smith's Doctor, but I can't stand Amy and Rory. I like Martha, Jack, Rose, and Donna. It's weird--the more of Martha and Donna I see, the less I'm attached to Rose.

From the few classic episodes I've seen, I liked Tom Baker, Davison, and Troughton.

My favourite doctor is Eccleston. Even though he was only in it for one series, I felt he was my Doctor. If it wasn't for Chris, Doctor Who would be nothing but a fading memory.

Hugh Laurie, while great on House, has never been The Doctor. That would be interesting, i think he coukd be a good time lord.

Quote from some book or other "The best Doctor is the one you saw when you were 11 or failing that, David Tennant".

I liked Tennant and Eccleston. Like Caseena, I couldnt stand Amy and Rory, or Clara, and that put me off of Matt Smith. As Clara was still around for Capaldi's Doctor, I've only watched one of his episodes.

I liked Donna as a companion, her no-nonsense attitude was a good antidote to all the slushy stuff with Rose and Martha.

Me again. I've seen some more Classic Who--now that I watch only one episode a day, I enjoy it a lot more than when I tried to get through a whole, or even half, a serial at once. Ten is still probably my favorite. After that, in no order, Three, Five, Eight, and Nine.

Definitely David Tennant, but I do actually like Matt Smith, too. Granted, I've not seen many episodes and none of the earlier doctors. I put up a Doctor Who calendar in the break room at work. Thus far, only one person has recognised it. Sigh.

David Tennant all the way! He is a comfortable doctor in his sand shoes and hilarious mood swings. And ROSE.... Allons-e!
