Apparently, Mr. Nimoy knew his time was close. He was on Twitter saying good-bye. "You and I Have Learned", is one of his poems. He died of COPD due to smoking. His advice: don't start. Reply #2. Feb 27 15, 1:20 PM |

R.I.P Mr Spock/Leonard Nimoy. I have fond memories of me and my dad watching all the early Star Treks in the sixties and my mum walking out of the room because she couldn't stand it. Where has all the time gone? Reply #3. Feb 27 15, 1:25 PM |

On March 1st, the SYFY channel is planning just that. From what I read, it won't be just a 'Star Trek' marathon but other shows in which he played a part. Reply #6. Feb 27 15, 6:25 PM |

Well, latest news is the Nimoy marathon will be five hours long. People are not happy. Many have stated you just can't put what Mr. Nimoy achieved into five hours. I didn't realize Leonard directed "Three Men and a Baby". It appears there is much to discover about the amazing Leonard Nimoy! Reply #8. Feb 28 15, 4:21 PM |

Goodness, he even gave advice to a young lady who wondered how he handled being half human and half Vulcan as she was of mixed parentage and felt the rejection of not fitting in. The letter was sent to 'Fave' magazine. Mr. Nimoy was so moved by the letter from the girl, he penned a personal answer to her which 'Fave' posted the following month. Amazing! Reply #9. Mr. Nimoy was also a friend of SETI and never charged for narrative work or as a guest speaker. Reply #10. Feb 28 15, 9:40 PM |

His part in Star Trek was a minor part of what he did. He also produced several shows that he felt strongly about, that the Hollywood movers wanted nothing to do with. I liked him as an actor. He never seemed to take the 'Spock" character seriously, or to serious, He will be missed. Reply #12. Mar 01 15, 1:46 AM |

From what I read, Mr. Nimoy was frustrated as he felt typecast. In his later years, he came to accept that Mr. Spock was a part of him and he made peace with that fact. Reply #13. Mar 01 15, 6:09 AM |

My husband and I were chatting about 'what might have been'. Imagine Mr. Nimoy as a character in 'Lord of the Rings' or 'Harry Potter'. Although he was best remembered as Mr. Spock by so many, Paris of Mission: Impossible will always be my favorite. 'Transformers' was also undertaken by Mr. Nimoy. One very busy man, was our Mr. Nimoy. In his memory, for today only, I hope he doesn't mind.... Live Long and Prosper to all within Fun Trivia! Reply #14. Mar 01 15, 9:31 AM |

Adam Nimoy attended his first 'Trekkie' convention since the passing of his father. In the, renamed, Leonard Nimoy Theater, there was a "celebration of life". Pure logic! :) Reply #18. Aug 12 15, 8:34 AM |

He was an accomplished photographer, having had his work displayed in several museums and galleries including the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2007, he published a book of photography entitled The Full Body Project, which is comprised of nude black-and-white photographs of plus-size women. The project was, according to an interview with The New York Times, a "direct response to the pressure women face to conform to a Size 2." Before being cast on "Star Trek," he taught method acting at his own studio. Besides "Three Men and a Baby" he also directed two of the Star Trek films, "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" and "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home." Vincent Van Gogh was Nimoy's favorite artist and a source of inspiration. In 1981, he starred in and directed a one-man filmed play about the legendary painter. Nimoy held a master's degree in Spanish He had a deep baritone singing voice, and released five studio albums. The albums included both original music and covers of classic hits like Johnny Cash's 1956 song "I Walk the Line. " He was also a stage actor, and played Teyve in a 1974 production of "Fiddler on the Roof" in Boston, his home town. He actually quit smoking more than 30 years before contracting COPD. I guess you can never quit too soon. Reply #19. Aug 28 15, 10:37 PM |

There are not many actors who created such a memorable character as Mr Spock. I know he didn't actually create him but his acting skills brought much to the role. I also remember him in the 1960s/70s series 'Mission Impossible' Seeing him interviewed he also seemed like a lovely man. Smoking takes so many lives. Reply #20. Feb 06 19, 6:40 AM |
