16 across is 'tweet' - 'wee' between 2 Ts. 17 down is 'elaborate' - 'e' (European) + 'lab' (British political party) on 'orate' (lecture). 23 down is 'copse' - 'cope' around 's' for second. Reply #27. May 05 17, 5:20 AM |

Yes that's the lot and all correct Sue! 15d Happened = TOOK PLACE ... To + OK (agree) + place (class) And wasn't 8d a great clue, when I originally solved it, it felt like a eureka moment! It obviously doesn't take a lot to please me. I'll hold off now for Jolana to continue, but am always willing to step in again if the need arises. Reply #32. May 05 17, 9:48 AM |

That was great! I decided on the answer for 8D, then had to think about why it might be correct. 8^) Thanks for that, Ivor. Reply #33. May 05 17, 5:15 PM |

Hi Sue, I'd held off lest Jolana wished to post something, but in the meantime I'm hoping this link works for the latest crossword from my weekly magazine ...... https://www.pressreader.com/uk/the-week/20170603/282338269837065 Reply #35. Jun 04 17, 2:54 PM |

That seems to have worked although some of the clues have merged, but you can easily separate them ... and of course you also have the grid now from the outset. One or two of the answers are quite tricky, but I feel sure you and the other regular users will fathom them out in due course. Reply #36. Jun 04 17, 2:58 PM |
