In this game, our group of incredible authors all work together as a team to defuse a dangerous bomb by cutting wires. But be careful! Cut all the red wires, and the bomb detonates, counting as a loss.
A host will choose five single question topics. Two of the topics will have secret, hidden blue wires behind them ready to be cut. Cut both blue wires and the team has successfully defused the bomb. This adds a tally in the win column.
However, three of the topics will have red wires hidden behind them. If all three red wires are cut, the bomb detonates and the game ends in a loss.
Please read through the following rules before playing:
1. The host needs to come up with five single question topics and assign a color to each topic before they have posted. We are working on the honor system here, so please don’t change the colors after you’ve assigned them.
2. Players will choose one of the topics, then write a single question for it and submit it to the queue. Once submitted, you can claim that topic on the board here. The host will then respond with the color wire that corresponds with your chosen topic: red or blue.
3. Players may submit two single questions in a row (i.e. with no other authors in between), but the host must post the color results of your first question before you can claim another.
4. Players don’t need to wait for the host to respond to a different player before they claim their topic. When players submit questions at the same time, the player who posts first is the official wire cutter.
5. If a second blue wire is cut, the game is over and counts as a win. Any leftover wires don’t need to be submitted as questions. If a third red wire is cut, the game is also over but counts as a loss. If you detonate the bomb, however, you’ll have to pick up the remaining single question topics and submit questions for them.
6. The person who ends the game either by cutting the second blue wire or the third red wire becomes the next host. If you don’t want that responsibility, post on this thread and the next interested player can feel free to pick up the hosting spot.
This is a team effort, but we want to see players rewarded for their bravery. We will keep track of the team record of wins vs. losses, but we will also keep track of how many blue wires you have cut as the game progresses. Good luck!
