Hi guys,
Has anyone on here had a problem witting a quiz, and when you go and try to save your work, it will say timed out?
Thanks,
Digby

Which editor are you using (old or new), and if it's the new editor, do you have it set to auto-save or not?

I use the old editor and auto is switched off.

Made a mistake, it is the new one. So should I allow auto save?

I always use autosave in the new editor, as you never lose anything more than a few sentences when something goes wrong. Every once in a while, I get some sort of error message, and need to sort it. But for the most part it is seamless and keeps me from having to interrupt the writing flow for regular saves.

Same-- when an error message does come up for whatever reason, I just copy and paste the text I was working on and it prevents me from losing anything.

That is what I do too when it happens to me in the New editor. When I get the error message after saving my work, I just hit the back button and copy the text I was working on, then move to another question - from which I can return to the original question and finish what I had started.

Thanks guys. I'll switch on autosave. Hopefully this will solve my problem.

The error message does seem random and is annoying. I also wish auto save stayed on and didn't need to be selected every day or after the computer starts up again. I use the new editor almost exclusively these days and get an error message fairly regularly, even when I'm in the middle of editing and there seems no reason for it.

My guess is that the autosave is attached to your IP address, so if it shifts, it'll revert back to default. Same thing logs me out of the forums.

(Just a guess though.)
