...intercepted weak radio message...

"Help!

The evil twin has escaped his prison cell and locked me up instead! He plans to once again make FunTrivia unplayable and his method of choice seems to be explosives again - this time, however, he learned from last time and doesn't use stationary objects such as pumpkins. I fear his weapons of choice are exploding kittens and he's targeting the Pot of Gold rainbow.

He's sent out seven of these kittens, one for each color of the rainbow. If even one of them fulfils its mission, we'll have a hard time reading any quizzes. Thankfully each can be lured back to its kitty bed where it will purr itself to sleep (and completely forget about exploding). I left some CLUES FOR you in a quiz. It has twenty questions and for each of THE kittens, you will need to put together three of the clues and then act upon them. As seven times three is twenty-one, one answer must be used twice. Which of the clues go together is something you must find out for yourselves. Work in your teams just like you're used to - together you can gather information much better than any individual could.

Try to act as normally as possible so we can keep the evil one CLUELESS about our plans. In particular, when dealing with the eleventh clue, add to existing ones - too many new ones might tip him off and don't please the kitten anyway. Also remember that herding cats is difficult - if their favorite sleeping conditions are no longer met, they will jump back to the cat tree to wait for the sunrise and the rainbow. Finally, when dealing with the one whose name you need to find - she only craves human attention.

I'll work on a magical spell that'll get me out of here (and put the evil twin back), but don't rely on me being back before the scheduled blast time. And sorry for the weak transmission, but I cannot risk him picking this up. I hope you have a high gain antenna.

The Tower Guardian"

The signal of the message is very weak and we can't decode it without a high gain antenna. The best we have out of the box is 5 dB, but we'll need 30 for a clear signal. Thankfully, we can tune it by working together. For each daily FT point score of 10,000 or higher anyone plays, we will be able to improve it by 0.1, so we'll need 250 such scores. It doesn't matter who attains them, just that we get them quickly. Once the evil twin releases his menaces, the timer is ticking! We'll tune the antenna several times each day based on your contributions!

Current Antenna gain: >30.0 dB - Good work!

Creating NEW ones of the thing mentioned in the 11th clue does not help with it!!! (see boldfaced part above). All it does is create clutter - so don't do it!

We intercepted another weak transmission:

"If you think you found something but the number seems wrong, it could be you're looking at the wrong number."

We have contacted a well-known cat psychologist and after several mishaps, he found out a few things:
  • A cat who never seems to stay put can be totally placated by stroking the smallest of its digits.

  • A cat who craves human attention initially needs a multi-step program, each of which addresses one part of her (ineffable, deep and inscrutable, singular) name in order. You can do that anywhere you want.

  • Entranced cats can't count well. When they gaze at stars, they will only see one even if you show them two at the same time.

  • A cat craving sweet treats needs the right amount - no more - and fast!

  • Don't challenge a cat more than needed. It will scare him away.

  • Playing with thread can be soothing to kittens. Get several different colors - not just one - and remember brand new ones just don't smell right.

  • Sometimes pleasing a cat can be as simple as having the right word in the right place.

The rules for cooperation are the same as the last two years - you can discuss, brainstorm or exchange information within your teams as much as you want, but in the end, every player will need to meet all requirements themselves to receive the badge. (Of course it's much easier once you know what they are...) By the way, even if you want to figure it out all by yourself, you need to be in a team (of any size or activity level) to complete the challenge.

Requirements:

Awarded to players who completed the limited edition Halloween 2015 challenge.
