Missouri. Bob went to college at Drury College in Springfield, Missouri in 1941. Bob left college to serve in World War 2. After the war ended, Bob went back to college and graduated in 1947 with a degree in economics.

5,000th episode of “The Price is Right” in 1998. Specifically, the 5,000th episode was aired on April 9, 1998, although it was taped on March 11. Lucy Johnson, who at that time was Vice President of Daytime Programming at CBS, presented Bob with a plaque that states that Studio 33 was officially renamed the Bob Barker studio.
3. The three games, in order of their debut, were Barker’s Bargain Bar, Trader Bob, and Barker’s Markers. Of the three, only Trader Bob was retired. This occurred in November of 1985 due to a low percentage of wins. After Bob retired, Barker’s Markers was renamed Make Your Mark.
Fur coats were being used during the pageants.. Bob hosted the pageants from 1967 to 1988. Fur coats were offered as prizes on both shows. Bob wished to discontinue this practice so he told the producers his request. They told him that the practice would be discontinued. The following year, fur coats were being used by the swimsuit contestants. The producers wouldn’t give up using furs, so Bob decided to quit hosting the pageants. This news was released to the press and became known as the “fur flap”.
