Carlin, George
Braindroppings. George's book, "Braindroppings," (1997) was published by Hyperion. It stayed on the NY Times bestseller list for 18 weeks.

Shining Time Station. In 1991-92 George Carlin portrayed Mr. Conductor on "Shining Time Station,"a children's show on PBS. (30 episodes). Received 2 Emmy nominations for the (‘91-’92) season and the ('93-'94) season.

7. The radio broadcast of an uncensored version of his routine "Seven Dirty Words You Can't Say on Radio or Television" became the center of a debate over censorship, and FCC legislation over profanity.
t. George hosted the very first broadcast of "Saturday Night Live", on October 11, 1975.
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" (1989) was George Carlin's fourth movie. His first movie he plays car hop Herbie Fleck in "With Six You Get Eggroll" (1968), with Brian Keith and Doris Day (aka "A Man in Mommy's Bed"). His second movie he plays a taxi driver searching for "tall, black, blonde chick" in "Car Wash" (1976). His third movie was "Outrageous Fortune" (1987).
Rufus. Rufus, an Emissary from the Future. It seems that in Rufus' time, Bill and Ted's music is the basis of all existence, and if the Wild Stallyns are disbanded, Rufus's world will no longer exist.

"Saturday Night Live" and "Friday's". George Carlin was the first ever host of "Saturday Night Live", as well as the first ever host of "Fridays" a show fashioned after "SNL", on ABC from 1980 to 1982.

1982 - Second heart attack at Dodger Stadium during a Mets game.
1991 - Valentine's Day, third heart attack while driving to Las Vegas.

Jack Burns. Jack Burns and George Carlin became a comedy team in 1960. When they parted ways in 1962, Burns joined the Second City comedy group in Chicago, and George Carlin pursued a solo standup comedy career.
1987. George Carlin received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in January of 1987. It's located at the corner of Vine and Selma Streets, between Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards. Milton Berle presided over the ceremony.
1994. George Carlin was inducted into the Comedy Hall of Fame in November of 1994. Fellow inductees were Bob Hope, Richard Pryor, Mary Tyler Moore, Shirley MacLaine, Sid Ceasar.
A Place For My Stuff. On March 29, 1986 he performed his first ever "Comic Relief" with the "A Place For My Stuff"" routine.
The Wright Brothers. In March, 1960 Burns & Carlin were known as "The Wright Brothers" at KDAY, in Hollywood. In June, 1960 they quit radio for night clubs.
Beacon Theatre, NYC. 'Back in Town' was the second time in a row Carlin had played at the Beacon Theatre. 'Back in Town' was his 10th HBO special.
1996. 'Back in Town' was filmed in 1996, Carlin's first HBO special since 'Jammin' in New York' which was filmed at the same place in 1992. This smash-hit was followed by 'You Are All Diseased' in 1999.

Like usual, Carlin provides some rather controversial comments, but in context, they are very funny.

Richard Nixon. 'You want to know where the sanctity of life came from? We made it up! Why? Because we're alive. Self interest.'
Bankers. 'Drug dealers aren't afraid to die. They are already killing each other on the streets. We should start executing the bankers who launder the drug money.' Carlin is of the opinion that if they start executing bankers, the drug rate would drop pretty quick.
Crisco. 'Boiling people in oil. Another rich tradition. SPONSOR - CRISCO! Hey, why not french-fry a couple of them? French-fried felons! How about dipping a guy in egg batter, just for a goof.'
Colosseum. 'The greatest thing since sliced bread. So this is it folks? A couple of hundred thousand years. The Pyramids, Panama Canal, the Great Wall of China, even a lava lamp is better than sliced bread. What's so good about it? You get a knife, slice the thing!'

Heavyweight. It's not the only sport Carlin pokes fun at. He also takes a swipe at Christian athletes 'Who praise Jesus whenever they win, but never mention his name when they lose.'

Politicians. 'You know what I say to people who say their needs aren't being met? Drop some of your needs.'
'Guys, you know the things with the earring? It's over. It was meant to anger the squares. The squares are wearing them now!'
Stay home. 'On election day, I stay home. Voting is meaningless. This country was bought, sold and paid for a long time ago.'
May 12th, 1937. George Denis Patrick Carlin was born on May 12, 1937 in Manhattan, a borough of New York City. He was raised Roman Catholic but his later acts proved he wasn't practising.
