Chan, Jackie
China. He was born to Charles and Lee-Lee Chan in Hong Kong which is now part of China. He was their only son.

April 7, 1954. Jackie was born by "c" section which his family could not afford so his dad offered to sell Jackie to the doctor who delivered him for a mere $26. The doctor declined. Another version of this story (in jackie's autobiography) - the Doctor offerred to buy Jackie, and the father declined.
Hong Kong. He was born in Hong Kong but his mum and dad moved to Australia after they lost their jobs. They worked for the French ambassator in Hong Kong.
Kong Sang. This was name Jackie was given when he was born. It means 'Born in Hong Kong'.
Big Brother. This is what he is affectionately known as in Hong Kong. Sammo Hung, his "brother" is known as Big Big Brother as a sign of respect in the film industry.
Seven Little Fortunes. The 'Seven Little Fortunes' was an annually held show to raise money for the school. At the Opera school there where about 200 teachers and hundreds of children and everyear 20 of the most talented pupils were picked to go in the show, seven would become the "Seven Little Fortunes".
Sammo Hung ,Yuen Biao. Sammo is older than Jackie and protected him from bullies when jackie was having a tough time. Yuen Biao is younger than Jackie and Jackie helped and protected him when Yuen was having a tough time. The three were all so talented that they all appeared in the "Seven Little Fortunes".
Joan Lin Feng Chiao. Jackie and Joan secretly married in L.A while Joan was pregnant with Jackie's child in 1983. The marriage was a huge secret as Jackie didn't want to upset his fans (as he was so popular). After a few years the secret was released. Tragedy struck when a young Japanese fan killed herself by throwing herself onto the tracks of an on coming train. Jackie has kept his private life very secret after the incident.
Chan Cho-Ming. Chan Cho-Ming is Jackie's son's real name. He also has a couple of nicknames, Jackson and JC. People are not sure if this is Jackie and Joan's only son. There maybe more but we don't know as he guards his private life very secretly. Jackie did father a chld in 1998, a little girl ,with a theatre actress, Elaine Ng.
Armour of God . It happened when he jumped off a wall onto a tree branch, which unfortunately snapped, leaving Jackie to fall 40ft! ouch!
dislocated cheekbone. Jackie proclaimed, "I didn't even know you could DO that!" about the injury. As injuries go, this was one of his more minor ones. Unlike many others, he was able to continue working with very little interruption. Other dislocated body parts on Jackie: pelvis, sternum, shoulder & neck.
a hovercraft. Jacking jumped from a bridge onto a hovercraft. As he turned his body to avoid smacking into a wall, his ankle remained planted causing it to break in two places. Doctors instructed him to remain off of the injury until it was healed. True to Jackie form, he decided finishing the movie was more important than letting his body mend. So he went back to the set and put a sock on his broken foot, painted to look like a sneaker and finished filming.

a skateboard. Although he has suffered more knee injuries than he can count, Jackie says his worst knee injury was suffered as a result of this stunt he was performing in the film 'City Hunter'. During one of the opening scenes of the film, Jackie has a long sequence that features a wild ride on a skateboard through a plate of glass several floors up. It was this scene that caused the knee injury. During this film Jackie also dislocated his shoulder.

'Snake in the Eagle's Shadow' (1978). While shooting a fight scene in 'Snake in the Eagle's Shadow', Jackie's arm was slashed so severely that blood gushed everywhere. Jackie fell down screaming in pain. Unbelievably, the camera continued to roll and caught it all on film. When one watches the film now, the reaction they see is the result of that interaction and is in fact, Jackie's genuine reaction to his injury.
two broken legs. Jackie had a major setback during the filming of 'Crime Story'. Unlike some of his other injuries in which he could continue on undaunted, this time he crushed both of his legs when he was caught between two cars. It was one of the most serious injuries of his career.
he nearly suffocated. One of Jackie's many brushes with death, during the filming he sustained a throat injury that made it difficult for him to breathe and he nearly suffocated. This is one of the many injuries that has made him uninsurable. It is also one of the reasons that in the United States there are many restrictions on the stunts that Jackie is allowed to perform.
