Mother . Errol's mother was born Lily Mary Young (she later changed her name to Marrelle), a direct descendant of Edward Young. Ironically, Errol's first movie role was that of Fletcher Christian in the Australian film "In The Wake of The Bounty", which was made in 1933!

Douglas Fairbanks. Errol was the movie sound era's king of swashbuckling films, a title he inherited from Douglas Fairbanks. The title remains Flynn's to this day, with his portrayal of a raft of heroic characters!
3. Errol was thrice married. Firstly, to Lili Damita whom he divorced in 1942; secondly, to Nora Eddington whom he married in 1943 and divorced in 1948; and, finally, to Patrice Wymore whom he married in 1950 and who survived him upon his death in 1959.

Olivia de Havilland. Perhaps Errol's best-remembered role was as the loveable rogue of Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood, in "The Adventures of Robin Hood". Errol teamed up with Olivia de Havilland as he also did in 1938 in "Four's A Crowd". The other eight films they starred opposite each other in were: "Captain Blood" in 1935. "The Charge of the Light Brigade" in 1936, "The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex" and "Dodge City" in 1939, "Santa Fe Trail" in 1940, "They Died with Their Boots On" in 1941, plus "Show Business at War" and Thank Your Lucky Stars in 1943.
