Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
Izzard, Eddie
False. Though perhaps the first widely available recorded performance in America, "Glorious" was actually Eddie's fourth recorded performance (that I am aware of). "Live at the Ambassadors" was his first.
Finish this quote from "Dress to Kill": "Is this Plymouth? We've just come from Plymouth! We've gone 'round in a circle, lads, ____!" | The Great Eddie Izzard Part 1

back on the boat. This is from the bit that Eddie does about the Pilgrims' arrival in America.
False. His jacket in "Definite Article" is an orange-ish Jean-Paul Gaultier number, and loses a button at some point during the performance. Apparently, Eddie puts it back on again, working that into his act. Such is his talent for improvisation.
Robin Hood. If you can believe it, the material in "Dress to Kill" does indeed cover all the aforementioned topics, except Robin Hood, which Eddie deals with, at length, in "Glorious." Of course.
True. The scene takes place at a nude beach. Although the clip of Eddie emerging from the water is full-frontal, it is shot from far away, maintaining the film's R rating.
False. This quote comes from his show, "Definite Article."
Charlie Chaplin. According to Eddie Izzard, his portrayal was based on the "essence" of Charlie Chaplin, as he says he does not resemble him physically.
want tea. Eddie is discussing that the Death Star in "Star Wars" was full of British actors.
True. By the time he gets around to doing part of the show in French, he has already done most of it in English, so it's relatively easy to figure out what he is saying and laugh at it all over again.
In "Glorious," Eddie says that over the horizon, there is a waterfall with a cave underneath it. According to Eddie, who or what is in that cave? | The Great Eddie Izzard Part 1

Daniel Day Lewis and a load of Mohicans. This was one of the most hilarious parts of the show, in my opinion. Eddie, however, seemed to think he'd "lost everyone."
Potpourri. Eddie also suggests that Achilles might have been better off riding around on a vacuum cleaner or a block of concrete with wheels.
James Mason. Mainly because he can't do many impressions. James Mason also stood in for JFK in a routine. Sean Connery is generally Noah.
In Mr Izzard's routine about 'The Great Escape', what are the English POWs forged passports made from? | Eddie Izzard's Stand-Up

Tin can and some jam. When they get to the border control, the guards are a bit suspicious: 'It's a bit clangy and a bit jammy...' - 'Yes, I come from the steel and jam area of Stuttgart.'
Drilling. You think it's purring, but no! It's all right, it's got goggles.
Eddie discusses the name Hitler, and how it could never be used now as a brand name. Apart from grapes, what other product might the Hitler brand name have graced? | Eddie Izzard's Stand-Up
|
Knee balm. Jam made by Nazis (but not Hitler specifically) is mentioned.
In Eddie's rant about Pavlov, what nationality did he become, due to excitement, during his dog behaviour experiments? | Eddie Izzard's Stand-Up

Welsh. Mr I says his cat results would have let him down badly - they were hushed up.
Kill a crazy dog. ... with a handbag with a brick in it! Contrary to what the British National Anthem would have you believe the Queen does not need saving - she lives in a big house with guards and lots of money. Killing the crazy dog would show that she can fight for survival like the rest of us!
82 . They also start to wear 'cake on the head' type hats around this time.
Hair-nets and dog food. The hair nets are necessary because of the hair thieves ...
A doughnut. 'Ich bin ein Berliner,' means 'I am a doughnut'. Apparently.
If the Bodyshop don't test their products on animals, what might the 'blue stuff' they discover in Eddie's routine be tested on? | Eddie Izzard's Stand-Up
|
A banjo. It could then be used for Bodyshop knee balm.
