Blondie
Dagwood Bumstead. "Blondie" was created by Chic Young and first appeared in newspapers in 1930.
Alexander, Cookie, and Daisey. Alexander was originally called "Baby Dumpling".
Herb and Tootsie Woodley. Herb is always borrowing tools from Dagwood, but never seems to get around to returning them.

Chic Young. Chic Young started "Blondie" in 1930. Today the strip is written by his son Dean Young and illustrated by Denis Lebrun. "Beetle Bailey" is made by Mort Walker, "Hi and Lois" is done by Dik Browne, and "Family Circus" is by Bill Keane.
A very large sandwich. Dagwood is famous for making very large sandwiches with everthing in the refrigerator, especially late at night. Many restaurants have sandwiches on their menus called a Dagwood special.

Catering service. Blondie and her best friend Tootsie started a catering service in 1990. This change brought Blondie more in tune with the working wives of the 1990's. Up until that time she represented the perfect 1950's suburban housewife. Dagwood helps in the business on a part time basis.
J.C. Dithers Construction Company. Dagwood's relationship with his fiery boss,Mr. Dithers, is an important part of the comic. Mr. Dithers yells at Dagwood for sleeping on the job, fires Dagwood daily, bothers Dagwood at home, and asks for advice on how to handle his wife. If anyone asks their boss for a raise, they probably think of Dagwood's eternal failures in getting a raise.

Mr. Beasley. Mr. Beasley is the mailman. He tries everything in the world to avoid the collision, but always seems to get zapped. Dagwood is always late for work and runs out the door, somtimes missing his kiss to Blondie, and letters fly everywhere.
