 King of The Ring
Semi Finals. He made it to the semis on two occasions in 1995 and 1999 but was never able to avance to the finals.
Stone Cold Steve Austin. The birth of Austin 3:16 was at the King of the Ring after this event his rise to superstardom was almost instant.
Triple H. The Game certainly had a huge boost in his career after winning the King of the Ring.
The Undertaker. The man from the Darkside somehow defeated Faarooq who had an obvious advantage with the entire Nation of Domination at ringside attempting to aide him in his quest to become WWF Champion.
Ken Shamrock. The Most Dangerous Man made Jeff Jarrett and then The Rock tap out to his Ankle Lock on his way to winning the 1998 KOR.
Kane. This was Kane's first WWF Title victory although he did lose the belt 24 hours later right back to the Texas Rattlesnake.
Billy Gunn. Billy Gunn became the 1999 KOR winner.
Kurt Angle. The Olympic Hero won the King of the Ring IT's TRUE, IT's TRUE.
Diamond Dallas Page. DDP came to the ring first. He called the Undertaker out. He said he'd be real easy to find, as he would be the one in the front row carrying a sign that read 'Make Me Famous'.
Christian and Kurt Angle. Christian and Kurt Angle faced each other in the first semi finals for 'King of the Ring'. Christian was taking a beating from Angle, and then he turned the tables on him. As this was happening, Shane came to the ring side and made Kurt Angle win. Christian was stunned!
Coach . When Coach interviewed Steve Austin, Austin said that Vince was a kidder and that he would be there at 'King of the Ring'. Then Coach asked him what he thought of the rumors going around about Jericho and Benoit. Austin said 'what rumors?', Coach replied ' the rumors about Jericho and Benoit defecting to WCW if they win the World Heavyweight Championship tonight'. Needless to say Austin was stunned!
Kane . Kane turned out to be Spike's mystery partner. Spike and Kane took control of the match early on. Spike almost pinned Bubba after he did the Dudley Dog, but D-Von stopped him, then he and Bubba gave Spike the "3D" and won the match. Then D-Von got a table out and they were going to put Spike through it when Kane came into the ring and powerbombed D-Von and put Bubba through the table. Go Kane!
Because of video footage airing that night of himself. DDP didn't like having video footage of himself being shown that night. He kept saying it wasn't fair. Boy, he gets on my last nerve! LOL.
Edge. Thanks to Shane McMahon, Edge won his match with Rhyno. Edge faced Kurt Angle in the 'King of the Ring' final match. They fought long and hard, and thanks to Shane, Edge won ' King of the Ring'! Way to go King Edge!
Edge. If you watched it, you would know that Edge is the King.
No. Vince never showed up that night. Although Austin called him, and it was said that Vince said he'd get there as soon as possible.
Sara. Sara turned out to be the stalker of DDP. She then said that it was Page's turn to be 'famous'. By that time Page was already in the ring, and when he heard the Undertaker's music fill the arena, he started to limber up. Then the Undertaker walked to the ring.
He put on leather gloves. Before reaching the ring, Taker put on his leather gloves.
When DDP ran out of the arena. The winner of course was Undertaker. When DDP ran out of the arena, Undertaker won the match. I love the Undertaker!
X-Pac. Jeff faced off against X-Pac. Surprisingly, X-Pac didn't come out with his entourage. X-Pac had Jeff pinned, and Jeff put his foot to the ropes before the Ref counted to three. The Ref didn't see his foot and announced X-Pac the winner. As he was doing so, the Ref noticed Jeff's foot on the ropes and renounced his decision, saying that the match had to continue. Jeff retained his belt (that night).
Shane McMahon . Angle faced Shane in a 'Street Match'.
Kurt Angle . The match was a long one. They both were bloodied and bleeding. Kurt put Shane through glass two times, with the result that Shane was almost unconscious. Kurt used a box to roll him back to the ring. By that time, Shane got his second wind, and he and Kurt started to fight again. Kurt won when he gave Shane the Olympic Slam from the top rope.
That only one can be the champion.
