Harry Potter: Other Characters
When the doorbell rings for the first time after that Potter boy comes before he started his fifth year at Hogwarts, what is the first thing my Mistress says? | Kreacher's Quiz
|
Stains of dishonor. She was referring, of course, to those delinquent members of the Black family that were blasted off of the family tree. Filthy half-breeds was referring to Lupin the werewolf, blood traitors to the Weasleys, and children of filth to the Mudblood, Hermione Granger, I suppose.
When Harry Potter appeared in the fire for the second time in the kitchen of Mistress' house, where did I tell him my Master at that time had gone? | Kreacher's Quiz
|
Department of Mysteries. Yes, of course I knew very well that Master was upstairs with that hippogriff, but Narcissa had given me instructions, which I was only too happy to follow, and it turns out I was right -- Master never did return from the Department of Mysteries!
Is my old Master, the last one still of the House of Black, related to Draco? | Kreacher's Quiz
|
Yes. Yes, Master's cousin Andromeda's sister Narcissa married Lucius Malfoy, and Draco is their son. Narcissa made a very respectable pure-blood marriage.
What is my old Master's joke? (Kreacher lives to serve the noble house of Black -) | Kreacher's Quiz
|
-and it's getting blacker every day, it's filthy. Yes, my old Master always liked his little joke. He also insulted Mistress by saying she didn't have a heart. Excuse me if you had to go back and change your answer to question 1.
Whenever anybody asks me what I'm doing, what do I say I'm doing? | Kreacher's Quiz
|
cleaning. Well, I wasn't lying! I was cleaning out the trash bags that Master filled with all Mistress' prized possessions before I was exiled to Hogwarts. I saved all the family photographs and kept them, I have respect for them, but not the criminal who claimed to be my Master!
What are the first words I speak in book 5 after my Mistress starts screaming for the second time (rightly, she'd been provoked)? | Kreacher's Quiz
|
Smells like a drain and a criminal to boot.... The house smells, and they complain about ME not doing anything? It's not my fault that it smells, the criminal Sirius Black lived here for far too long, looking like he hadn't had a bath in weeks...
Who is that abominable traitor, who brought all those Mudbloods and filth into Mistress' house? Fortunately, he's dead now, but that means poor Kreacher is forced to work at Hogwarts...oh. Yes. The question. Who was my old Master? | Kreacher's Quiz
|
Sirius Black. Yes, oh he was a shame to the noble and most ancient house of Black, running away at sixteen to live with the Potters. He was sent to his doom in the Ministry of Magic, and now my owner is Harry Potter, a filthy half-blood. Lupin is a werewolf, I would not dream of serving him, and I don't know about that Snape.
Alas, Sirius meets his demise in "The Order of the Phoenix". He fights valiantly to protect Harry and his friends from the Death Eaters in the Department of Mysteries. Who is the devious villain who ultimately does away with him? | Sirius Black: A Quiz
|
Bellatrix Lestrange. Yes, the one responsible for Sirius' death is his evil cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange. As they duel in the Department of Mysteries, she hits him with a powerful Stunning Spell that knocks him through an archway, which seemingly kills him. Bellatrix followed in her cousin's footsteps by escaping from Azkaban, although she had help from Voldemort. The reason she was in the prison was because she and three other Death Eaters tortured Frank and Alice Longbottom (parents of Neville) into insanity with the Cruciatus Curse.
Starting from their school days, and continuing into Book 5, Sirius and this man have despised each other. Although he is petty, condescending, and difficult to trust, he appears to be a good man. Who is he? | Sirius Black: A Quiz
|
Severus Snape. James Potter was Sirius' best friend, Lucius Malfoy was and still is a deceitful sneak, and Hagrid has only disliked Sirius under false pretenses. Snape hated Sirius (and almost everyone else) when they went to school, but in his defense, he had a hard life, which only got worse.
On Buckbeak, the hippogriff. The invisibility cloak is unavailable at the time. As Hermione constantly reminds everyone, you can't Disapparate on school grounds. The Dementor's Kiss is not performed, of course, or else we would have no mention of Sirius after this. Harry and Hermione rescue both man and hippogriff using the Time-Turner. Harry is disappointed that he has to say good-bye to his godfather (yes, his godfather!), but it is clearly better that he go into hiding instead of being caught by the Ministry again.
The reason Sirius was in Azkaban was because he was accused of killing thirteen people with one curse. He was not the one who performed it, though. Who did? | Sirius Black: A Quiz
|
Peter Pettigrew. It's a long story about how Pettigrew betrayed his friends. In a nutshell, he gave Lord Voldemort the necessary information for him to kill the Potters. The Dark Lord's attack on baby Harry Potter backfires, though. Sirius and Pettigrew face off afterwards. Peter sets up his friend by killing a dozen Muggles as a distraction, then cutting off his own finger, and going into rat form to escape by sewer. Sirius feels responsible for the deaths of Lily and James Potter, so he doesn't put up much of a fight when taken to Azkaban. Twelve years later, he sees Peter/Scabbers on the front page of The Daily Prophet with the Weasley family in Egypt. He escapes from Azkaban in his dog form, and heads for Hogwarts, knowing that Peter the traitor will be there with Ron Weasley.
A Firebolt racing broom. Sirius spends a great deal of money to buy the the top-of-the-line model after learning that Harry's Nimbus 2000 was destroyed by the Whomping Willow following a horrible Quidditch match.
Armed and extremely dangerous. Anybody who could escape from a wizard prison would probably be considered extremely dangerous!
On television. Harry sees a picture of Sirius on the Muggle news. At the time, he doesn't know that Sirius is an escapee of Azkaban, the wizard prison.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. When Rubeus Hagrid goes to retrieve baby Harry Potter from his parents' destroyed house, he meets a grieved Sirius Black. Sirius gives his flying motorcycle to Hagrid, saying that he won't need it anymore. Although we only hear about this from Hagrid, it is the first mention of Sirius in the Harry Potter series.
Elphias Doge. There are a few major characters who were in the advance guard and were in the first Order of the Phoneix picture but only a three minor characters. They were Diggle, Elphias Doge the other one was the late Emmeline Vance.
Sturgis Podmore. Ok I'm a big enough person to admit that this is not really a Diggle question. The whole reason we know that Diggle was in the original Order of the Phoenix, is Sturgis Podmore did not return the cloak. We think that Podmore got the Imperius curse put on him by Malfoy.
Dumbledore and Marlene McKinnon. I know this is a hard one, but most Diggle clues come when you're least expectant of them. This part in the book tells us that Diggle was in the first Order of the Phoenix. Who Diggle is standing by might give us on clue to how important Diggle was to the order, my guess is very important because of the fact he is standing next to Dumbledore, himself!
In a Muggle shop. Harry first encounters Diggle in a muggle shop; believe it or not I'm right. Harry meets Diggle before he even knows he is a wizard, amazing, I know! Some people think the first time is when Harry meets Diggle with Hagrid in the Leaky Cauldron. But if you read carefully you know Harry remembers the first meeting, and Diggle feels "honored".
Three. The three aurors are Nymphadora Tonks, Kingsley Shacklebolt and, of course, how could you forget Mad Eye Moody. I wonder what job Diggle works at? Maybe a shop that sells men's clothing in violet.
Dropping his hat. Diggle is very jumpy around Harry. This time he met Harry he kept dropping his trade mark hat; I bet Diggle really is not a very fidgety person, seeing that he is in the Order of the Phoenix he must have to play it cool sometimes.
The Prisoner of Azkaban. Diggle is such a minor character he is absent for whole book like the "The Prisoner of Azkaban", and no one will take notice. They are trying to throw us off the Diggle clues, but it doesn't work, I always remember Diggle clues, always!
Violet. Diggle is always seen in violet. No other shades of purple, not purple like the Knight Bus, but violet. If you ever hear of a strange character on the street described in a violet cloak and a top hat, it might be the mysterious Diggle.
Kent. In the first chapter of the first book Diggle was there. McGonagall accused Dedalus of setting off "shooting stars" in Kent. We do not definitely know that he lives in Kent, but I think we can safely assume that the fact that he was there the day of Voldemort's fall is evidence enough for most to accept, that Diggle lives in Kent.
Little man in a top hat. The first time Harry saw Diggle was in a muggle shop before he knew he was a wizard. The second time is in the Leaky Cauldron on Harry's birthday, he also meets Tom (the bar tender), Doris Crockford and Professor Quirrell all in the same day. Some people think Uncle Vernon met Diggle on the street in the first chapter. Most think this because of the fact that the stranger wore violet, and they described him as old. It could have been Diggle for all I know, but the question asked for the first time Dedalus Diggle was described.
Millicent Bagnold. Millicent Bagnold was the Minister for Magic before Cornelius Fudge. She was appointed one year before Voldemort's downfall. Everard was a Hogwarts Headmaster, although Erenus was not his first name. Dexter Fortescue was also a Hogwarts Headmaster and Nobby Leach was a Minister for Magic 18 years before Millicent Bagnold was appointed. Bagnold was a Minister for Magic for ten years before resigning in 1990.
Slytherin. Vaisey was the Slytherin chaser in "Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince." Vaisey played in the quidditch game against Gryffindor, but Slytherin lost.
In "Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix", who was the Gurg of the giants when Hagrid and Madame Maxime first met the giants, giving him a branch of everlasting fire? | Harry Potter: One Time Characters
|
Karkus. Karkus was the name of the Gurg (a leader of a giant clan) when Hagrid and Madame Maxime met the giants. They presented Karkus with a branch of ever-lasting fire and a goblin-made helmet. Karkus' head was ripped off by Golgomath, who put himself as the new Gurg. Fridwulfa was Hagrid's mother and Grawp was Hagrid's half-brother.
What was the name of the young boy magically enlarging a slug with his father's wand at the Quidditch World Cup in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"? | Harry Potter: One Time Characters
|
Kevin. Kevin is the name of the boy who is making a slug grow with his father's wand. His mother accidentally stepped on the slug and Kevin said "You burst slug".
Apollyon Pringle. Apollyon Pringle was the caretaker when Mr and Mrs Weasley were at school. He was allowed to cane the students, which he did to Mr Weasley after he was caught out of bed after hours. Mr Weasley still has the marks from the caning. Mrs Weasley mentioned him while visiting Harry before the third task of the Triwizard Tournament.
What is the name of Aunt Petunia's friend who was considered for babysitting Harry in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", but was away in Majorca? | Harry Potter: One Time Characters
|
Yvonne. On Dudley's birthday, Harry was meant to be staying with Mrs Figg, but she broke her leg after tripping over one of her cats. Rather than take Harry to the zoo with Dudley, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon desperately try to think of possible replacement babysitters. Uncle Vernon suggests Yvonne, but Aunt Petunia says that she is in Majorca. In the end the Dursleys can't find a replacement for Mrs. Figg and take Harry to the zoo.
