Vile Village
7. Klaus got 7, Violet grabbed 6 and Sunny grabbed 9.
Luciana. They meet Officer Luciana in the beginning but do not find out who it is until the very end when she leaves again with Count Olaf.
Attaching them to a crow. They put it on a crow in the morning when they sit on the fountain and when they go to Nevermore Tree it falls out.
Pink ribbon decorated with plastic daisies. Klaus defends his sister by showing the one in her pocket and by saying she prefers plainer, simpler ones.
Cool. The other cover ups Count Olaf has used are: Staphano, Shirley, Coach Genghis, Captain Sham, and Gunther.
For sapphires we are held in here. That line means they were kidnapped because of the Quagmire's fortune of sapphires.
They make him skittish. Even though Hector treats the Baudelaires nicely he still isn't much help when the Baudelaires need him to prove their innocence.
Count Omar. They also said the Quagmires were twins and that Esme' Squalor was kidnapped which wasn't true.
Village of Fowl Devotees. The only other meaning to V.F.D. so far is Very Fancy Doilies.
murder. The Baudelaires were imprisoned for the murder of Jacques Snicket, whom the Council of Elders thought was Count "Omar". Detective Dupin (Count Olaf) had actually committed this crime, but managed to frame the Baudelaires for it.
Count Olaf had been captured. While cleaning Fowl Fountain, a member of the Council of Elders informed the Baudelaires that a man with a tattoo of an eye on his ankle and one eyebrow had arrived at V.F.D that day, and they arrested him claiming that he was count Olaf.
couplets. Isadora Quagmire, who was known for her poetic works, was secretly sending the Baudelaires couplets to tell them where she and her brother, Duncan, were hidden.
skittish. Hector specified to the Baudelaires many times that the Council of Elders, and all their strict rules, made him feel too skittish to even say one peep while in their midst.
Mexican. Hector made several Mexican dishes for the Baudelaires during their stay at his house, such as Chicken Enchiladas.
Nevermore Tree. The Nevermore tree was located right outside Hector's house. Every evening, all the hundreds of thousands of V.F.D crows would all fly down to the tree and make it their roost for the night.
handyman. In Hector's family, the job of handyman for V.F.D was passed down from generation to generation, finally leading down to Hector.
Village of Fowl Devotees. The Village of Fowl Devotees was a village full of people who were obsessed with crows.
Telegram. The note is a telegram because that is the only way you can send messages at the store.
A harpoon gun. Officer Luciana uses a harpoon gun because her boyfriend gave it to her. She does not have very good aim but it improves.
The stake. Rule #2 is everyone who breaks any rule is burnt at the stake - the reason Hector keeps all the mechanical devices and books hidden.
Fountain. I will give you all of the poems in order.
"For Sapphires we are held in here.
Only you can end our fear.
Until dawn comes we cannot speak.
No words can come from this sad beak.
The first thing you read contains the clue:
An initial way to speak to you.
Inside these letters the eye will see
Nearby are your friends and VFD."
If you read those poems you will find the word FOUNTAIN. Now all of these notes should make sense
All of these (A pitcher of water, The bench, A loaf of bread). The water would run down the bench, dissolve the mortar and run down into the bread, Sunny would squeeze the bread and then the water could be re-used, completing the cycle.
What false evidence does Detective Dupin use to frame the Baudelaires? | The Vile Village
|
All of These (A pink ribbon with plastic flowers on, A lens from some glasses, False teeth marks). The evidence is so rubbish- Violet likes red ribbons, Klaus wouldn't have time to replace a lens and anyone can make false teeth marks.
Jacques Snicket . Well we are all wondering who killed Jacques aren't we- yep you guessed it, Count Olaf in another of his disguises?
A good meal. While eating Hectors huevos Rancheros Klaus thought of looking for rules that gave Jacques rights, Violet thought of finishing the self sustaining hot air mobile home and Sunny thought of spending the night under the tree to see if Isadora comes.
Jacques Snicket. Jacques Snicket is Lemony Snicket's brother.
Count Olaf . The person who was actually captured looked just like Count Olaf except for the aura of menace.
couplets. The Baudelaires find couplets under Nevermore Tree- there proof that Isadora Quagmire wrote it, because that was her style of poem!
Edgar Allan Poe . Nevermore Tree is a reference to a poem called 'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe.
by Bus. The Baudelaires got off the bus at a bus stop ten miles away. They walked the rest. Violet's hair got messed up, Klaus got very dusty and Sunny got sunburnt
Which village are mentioned in the 'It takes a village to raise a child' brochure? | The Vile Village
|
All of these (Tedia, Paltryville, Ophelia). The Baudelaires didn't choose Tedia because Uncle Monty used to live there.
They didn't choose Paltryville because of the terrible memories of the mill. Mr Poe didn't let them choose Ophelia because he hated Ophelia bank. And then they noticed one village which was... V.F.D.
