Adventures of Tom Sawyer
The lickin's. Tom then proceeds to sing about his favorite fights in "In the Bible." It sounds great to the church congregation...until he mentions Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Ain't Life Fine. The song starts out with Mr. Dobbins saying "Ten seconds...five seconds...have a nice summer." The kids sing about how great summer is while their parents complain about the heat and all the work they have to get done.
Getting stabbed by Injun Joe. Tom's yelling is what makes Sid think that the house is on fire, and it also brings Aunt Polly into the scene to comfort him with her song.
Murrel's gold. Muff finds the map to the gold, but Injun Joe decides to find it for himself. The map says that it is buried in a place with 22 rooms and is under the cross.
He tells Tom that Becky Thatcher is coming up the path. Tom hops out of bed to go look out the window so he can see her, but he soon realizes that Sid tricked him when Sid tells him what a relief it is to him to see that his legs are working.

Put her Sunday clothes on a dead pig. She says this after Judge Thatcher tells her that people say boys are easier to raise. But they don't know Tom...
Doc Robinson. Injun Joe gets mad at the Doc because he had him arrested five years earlier for asking for something to eat. Injun Joe frames Muff so no one will know who did it, but he doesn't know that Tom and Huck witnessed the whole thing.
A doorknob. Tom sings to Becky about how much he loves to hear her say his name and she happily accepts the doorknob and promises never to love, or marry, anyone else. (The doorknob was one of the items Ben gave to Tom at the fence.)
Joe Harper, Benjamin Rogers, and Jim Hollis. Tom tells them "Just 'cause they're havin' school, don't mean we gotta go to school!" Ben replies that last time they tried that idea, his mother found out and his backside glowed in the dark.
Sid Sawyer. Sid had memorized 2000 lines of Scripture. Tom Sawyer ended up winning the award, though. To impress Becky Thatcher, he accumulated the necessary number of Bible tickets by trading things with his friends for them.
Lyle Peters. To show off to Ben Rogers and Joe Harper, Lyle showed a snake to some of the girls. They weren't scared, made sarcastic comments and walked off.
"Robin Hood", "King Arthur", "Hamlet". Huck Finn even recognized the first letter in the title of "Hamlet" as the first letter in his name. Tom went on to give a hilarious synopsis of what the story of "Hamlet" is all about.
8. Huck started by saying that he knew his letters, then revised this to most of his letters. Widow Douglas finally had to remind him that he had only known eight letters.
Benedict Arnold. Becky called him Benedict Arnold after finding out that he had once been engaged to Amy Lawrence.
0. When Tom tried to kiss Becky, she quickly turned away and said "Tom!". This led to the lovely duet "To Hear You Say My Name".
Watching the sun come up in the east. Becky tells Tom Sawyer that Joe Harper is handsome and that his smile reminds her of "watching the sun come up in the east". Tom gets jealous and suggests that it is because Joe has a gold tooth.
She was too perky.. Tom and Becky were in the process of making up for their fight that had resulted in Tom bringing Amy Lawrence and Joe Harper bringing Becky to the picnic.
Murrell's gold. They also ran into Injun Joe who was in the cave searching for the gold.
The children of Israel. Reverend Sprague made this comment after Tom Sawyer literally ran into him when rushing to school.
The Prince of Darkness. She introduced him to Judge Thatcher using this descriptive title.
light, smart, table. Huck did not know how to read until Widow Douglas began teaching him. She began with easy words.
Hoss Williams. Tom and Huck went to Hoss Williams' grave with a dead cat as part of the process for curing their warts.
Huck's father. Huck's pap was the town drunk.
Sew his lips together. Tom got in trouble for this, as well as for picking on Sid during the sermon.
Boys tried to kiss girls in it. Amy Lawrence mentioned this to Alfred Temple while in the cave. Then puckered up expectantly.
E. E. Then he continued with his spelling - v,e,r,y,s,t,a,t,e,i,n,t,h,e,u,n,i,o,n.
The church. Tom Sawyer is whitewashing the fence when Judge and Becky Thatcher come by on their way to church.
Hey, Tom Sawyer!. Tom Sawyer's gang came out yelling (singing) "Hey, Tom Sawyer!". (No grownups involved in this one.)
