Harlan. It later turns out that Harlan is not just a scambler, he is a complete Psionic damper, he was just not in the best of health when they found him.
Macho. An aptly named planet, most of whose inhabitants are extremely egocentric, and care little for other people. Chicken Itza is the planet where Knott takes control of the CC, Omicron Ceti III is the planet from the Star Trek episode "This side of Paradise", and Terra is, of course, Earth.
Piebald . A lobotomized Pyrokenetic criminal, Piebald tries to incover Finesse's Psionic power, so that he can then lobotimize her, and attempt to reverse teh lobotomy.
Phobic Projection. She has the ability to cause fear in anyone. An extremely useful talent that.

Weasel and Hermit Crab. Hermine the Ermine , and Mit the Hermit Crab, were, respectivly, a telepath , and a combonation clairvoyant and precognitive.
Transmutation. Known as the Leadmuter, this mutant could gradually change any one substance to any other one substance. At MM58 he was "programmed" to transmutate Lead into Gold. He was actually the second hidden Psi-Mute, Knott himself being the first.
Knott. Beginning as the Placement Officer for Enclave MM58, Knott ends up becomming an agent of the dreaded CC.
Look in to the peep hole. Many of the main characters throughout the series become trapped in the gourd by accidentally looking in to the peep hole. Once a person is trapped in the gourd, they can only be freed by someone else who interrupts the line-of-sight with the peep hole.
Hippogryph. Xap was Xavier's steed. Xavier fell in love with Zora the zombie, whose talent was to increase the rate of aging.
Lacuna. Lacuna's talent was to magically create words on surfaces. Com-Pewter was able to manipulate its own reality by changing text. She changed its reality using its own magic.
She acquired half of a soul.. Mare Imbrium acquired half of a soul during Smash's adventures in Ogre, Ogre. She didn't release it like she was supposed to, and it started regenerating. This made her lose her nightmarish edge.
The Sea Hag. The Sea Hag's talent was that her soul wouldn't die as long as she could jump into a willing host's body. She raised Rapunzel so that she could eventually use her body after the one she was in had died.
Tracing the holder's initials in the air. The crossbreed Smash actually figured out the key to operating Goldy's wand after he had been made the victim of an IQ vine.
Magician Humphrey. Crombie has been in the series since the first book, "A Spell for Chameleon", as a woman-hater. His story unfolds later in the series to reveal that he is, in fact, Humphrey's son.
Each talent could only be used once.. Surprise had magician-caliber magic. She was able to use any talent (even new ones) but only once.
Good Magician Humphrey. The Good Magician Humphrey was born first, and as he found the Youth elixir, has been maintaining his youth one drop at a time.

Evil. Although 'For Love Of Evil' is the fifth book, Parry becomes Satan approximately one-third of the way into the book. In 'And Eternity' the trend reasserts itself and Orlene assumes the office of Incarnation of Good at the very end of the story.
He was impeached. God had become too interested in his own greatness and was unresponsive to the outside world, neglecting the duties of his office for centuries. Luna, who has ties to all the other Incarnations, is a leading politician who initiates the campaign to impeach the current God so that a new officeholder may be chosen. She is successful, but the tricky part is that all Incarnations must be unanimous in the selection of the new God, and Satan is hardly going to vote for any candidate put forth by his adversaries. An accord is finally reached when Satan puts forth the name of Orlene, a ghost who was the first wife of Norton, a prior Chronos (Incarnation of Time). Her soul is perfectly balanced between good and evil.
Priest. When Parry's wife is murdered, he enters a monastery. After rising in the priestly heirarchy his wife's ghost is able to inhabit a living woman and causes Parry to violate his oath of celibacy. Lucifer uses this to corrupt Parry to evil. Under the guise of eliminating evil, Parry corrupts the Inquisition, causing the death of countless good souls. When Lucifer attacks Lilah, the demoness sent to seduce him, Parry is able to kill him and Lilah persuades him to take the office, at which time he takes the name of Satan. He knows that Orb (serving as Gaea, the Incarnation of Nature) is fated to marry him, but he must use nothing but lies in his courtship. He wins out but realizes that he has fallen in love with her, which leads to his removal from the office. He later is able to reclaim the office and proves to be a unique Incarnation of Evil - he is a good man.
Evil. At the wedding Gaea sings the Llano, the magical song. Satan then surprises everyone by singing "Amazing Grace". By professing his true love for a good woman, he must vacate his office.
Until the cessation of war. At any time that the world is at complete peace, the current officeholder will die and the Red Sword will lie dormant until such a time that conflict again arises, at which time it will seek out a new officeholder to supervise the world's conflicts.

Atropos. Fate weaves the tapestry of life. Clotho spins the threads, Lachesis measures them, and Atropos cuts them. After the death of her husband, Niobe first spends many years as Clotho, then leaves to marry again. When it becomes apparent that all three aspects will become vacant at one time, the other Incarnations convince Niobe to become Lachesis.
Until his birth. Chronos lives backwards in time until the time of his birth, when he must pass the Hourglass to his successor/predecessor. Unfortunately for Norton, he receives the Hourglass from a boy, who unwittingly received the Hourglass and is unable to provide much information about its use to Norton. After the current officeholder reaches the time of his birth, he will die.
Gun. In the nadir of depression, Zane decides to commit suicide. Just as he is about to pull the trigger of his gun, Death appears before him. In shock, Zane turns the gun and shoots the apparition. The man serving as Death had gotten lazy and allowed himself to be seen and did not have all his protections in place, so the bullet killed him. Zane is shocked to discover he must now take the office, and will serve as Death until he, too, allows himself to be killed.
Demon. The Demon X(A/N)th was an entity whose very essence seeps into the realm and makes all magic possible.
The Sorceress of Enhancement. Ivy's talent lies not in her enchanting herself, but in her ability to see the best in others and bring those qualities out.
The Magician of Zombies. One may assume that being the Magician of Zombies, Jonathan was an evil Magician, yet he was one of the more honorable men to sit on the throne.
The Magician of Knowledge. Merlin was not a central character to Xanth but as the First King he holds a special spot and his talent is fairly easy to deduce give the Arthurian Legends.

The Magician of Information. Good Magician Humfrey's talent was not information like most thought, but the ability to locate said information. He was also aware of other characters in the worlds of Piers Anthony, such as the "Apprentice Adept" series and the "Incarnations of Immortality" series.
