L do you know. Light used the first word of every line to write a message to L. Gods of Death and Love Apples were other parts of the message revealed in Volume 2. Have Red Hands was a fake part of the message made by L to try to prove Light was Kira.
Lind L Tailor. Lind L Tailor was a criminal scheduled for the death penalty. Near is one of L's prodigies, like Mello. Jack L Thomas and Max L Adams are made up and do not appear in the story.
Ray Penbar. L is the name of the greatest detective in the world. Matsuda is a detective on the Kira taskforce. Watari is the only person in the world who can contact L.
6. Light writes down the name six times because he is unsure of how to spell it. He is unsure because he only heard him say his name.
Kurou Otoharada. Mello is a character revealed in Volume 7. He kidnaps Light's sister and was up to be L's prodigy. Qwillsh Wammy is Watari's real name. Sayu is Light's sister.

Ryuk. Rem is the Shinigami who possesses Misa Amane. Shidoh is the Shinigami who Ryuk stole a Death Note from. Justin the Jewel Skeleton is a Shinigami who gave Shidoh Death Note rules.
The human whose name is written in this note shall die.. The rule with the trading of the soul for the Death Note is fake. The other ones are real, and found in Volume one.
17. Light is never depicted as any of the three incorrect ages. He is depicted as 17, 18, and 22.
Boredom. The first chapter is called "Boredom". "Zero" is from Volume seven. "Family" is chapter three, and "Target" is chapter seven.
