Doyle, Arthur Conan
A Study in Scarlet. This was an easy one...I don't think that I have to give any extra information.
Dr. Watson. The story (in most cases) is narrated by Dr. Watson. For him, it's as difficult to understand what Holmes is up to or what the solution is, as it is for the reader.
London. He lives in 221B Baker Street, London.
Devonshire. The story is not only shown to be taking place in Devonshire, but is also based on a true Devonshire legend!
Hudson . A charming lady, she really likes Mr. Holmes...a very good and tolerant housekeeper. She knows when and how to use her discretion.
Violin. He usually plays the violin either on dreary, wet evenings or when he is thinking deeply about a case.
A wife. Miss Mary Morston comes to Sherlock Holmes for help in 'The Sign of Four' and later marries Dr.Watson.
Dr. Mortimer. Dr.Mortimer is a friend of the last of the Baskervilles living and wants to free the Baskervilles from the strange curse which seems to kill all the Baskervilles.
The Baker Street Irregulars. I can't tell you about this - if you have read books, then you ought to know!

25 pounds. A labourer could make about 5 pounds a week in the early 1900's.
1930. On July 7, 1930, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, died of a heart attack in Crowborough, England.
A wedding ring. The message in blood was written ABOVE the body on the wall. It was the word 'Rache', German for 'Revenge'.
Australia. It never made it to Australia. It was involved in Holme's very first case.

A cheque. The SECOND most interesting thing Holmes saw was a horse shoe that mimicked the tracks of cows. He found it more interesting that he got paid a nice big cheque. He was, after all, a poor man. (His words, not mine.)
Air Gun. The air gun was also used to try to kill Sherlock Holmes, except that it targeted a wax dummy of Holmes instead.
World War I. In this mystery, Holmes catches a German spy who was able to predict that the war would start August 1914.
Math Prof. Suffice it to say, he earned more money as a criminal mastermind.
Switzerland. He was thrown into the Reichenbach Falls by Holmes after a fight to the death struggle.
none. Yup, he never said it in the original stories. He said, 'Elementary', and he said 'My dear Watson' upon occasion but never the two together.
4. He wrote a 'Study in Scarlet', 'The Sign of Four', 'Hound of the Baskervilles', and 'Valley of Fear'. The rest were short stories.
Canada. It is implied in the story that he was originally born in England but he was living in Canada when he inherited the Baskerville estate.
Two ears. The ears belonged to two people who were murdered. They were cut off, and mailed in the cardboard box.
6. The gemstone was hidden in one of them. It turned out to be the last one broken.
