3. Mord - sith were broken 3 times,breaking the spirit, the empathy, and the fear of hurting others
Red. Mord - sith wear red when breaking a victim and brown when doing nothing.
Scarlet. Scarlet is the red dragon. Kahlan is the woman who Richard loves. Scrag is a name I made up, and Rachel is the name of the little girl who Chase adopted.
Mother Confessor. Kahlan is the Mother Confessor, and the last living Confessor.
Three times. A boy can be offered the chance three times. A boy rarely refuses the first chance because his parents will make him. Each time a chance is refused, the Sister that offered will kill herself. The third time the offer is refused, the boy will be killed by the Sister instead of letting him suffer until he dies.
Gratch. Richard kills the gar's mother and can't make himself kill the baby gar. The gar follows him and he hunts for it and they become friends.
Sister Verna. Sister Verna is the third sister to offer Richard the collar, and so is the one who guides him to the palace. Sisters Liliana, Armina, and Tovi are three of Richard's teachers.
He freezes it in water and has soldiers hack it apart.
Denna. Denna is the spirit who takes the power of the mark of the Keeper. This way she will be sent to him instead of Richard.
Sword of Truth. Richard is the Seeker, and the sword comes with the job. The sword has magic and helps Richard many times. Richard is able to turn the blade white, which happens when he forgives a person before he kills them.
4. The quads are a group of men sent after the confessors. There are four because once a confessor touches someone with her power she cannot do it again, so the others can kill her.
George Cypher. George was only Richard's stepfather. Zed (First Wizard) took his daughter away from Richard's real father so that they would not be killed.
Kelton. Under a spell cast by the Blood of the Fold, the duchess of Kelton surrenders to Richard.
Temple of the Winds. After a long awaited event, Richard and Kahalan use the sliph in order to get to the Mud People village in order to be wed.
Merissa. Merissa vows this when she leaves the spell of the palace of the Prophets. Fortunately the sliph and Richard manage to kill her before this is carried out.
Cara and Berdine. Raina is killed by the plague. Ricca was not one of the original group of four. Denna was killed in book one. Cara barely makes it through that book- luckily, Richard heals her.
Lindie. When Darken Rahl was master of D'Hara, he wanted a gifted heir. Richard was the only one born with the gift from however many others there were. Most were murdered when Darken Rahl tested them for the gift. This character is actually introduced in 'Pillars of Creation' yet her name has been changed since what we learn in 'Temple of the Winds' in order to protect her from the quads.
Children. Jagang thinks that the strongest way to upset Richard is to start the plague in the most innocent life-forms there are.
He was left with a horrible scar on his torso.. He is left with a mutilating scar on his side which is humiliating to him by making him appear weak, yet it acts as a reminder that he needs to destroy the First Wizard.
Nathan. Nathan was a prophet in the Palace of the Prophets, a place which slowed aging. By the events in the series, Nathan is over 1000 years old!
The Ungifted Offspring of the House of Rahl. To create a balance in his bond to protect the D'Haran people, Richard's ancestor made sure that he could only provide one gifted ofspring. As a result the other offspring are pristinely ungifted meaning that they cannot see magic. They are named this because they have the power to wipe magic out of the world, since if they give birth they will carry these traits as well. The Pillars of Creation is also the name of a very hot place in the Old World where no one is meant to survive if they go in.
They are murdered at birth by their fathers. If a male child is born, the mother has to order the husband to kill the child. This barbaric rule comes from the dark times where male Confessors took advantage of their power and went on a rampage. Only females are allowed to live since they are more controlled in their powers.
