In an asteroid. A very good novel. The description of the main character walking on the sky and looking at his village gave me vertigo.

The Revolutionary War. England had won and George Washington was considered a traitor. The main character was a descendent of George Washington and had to try and clear his family name.
Bowb. Mostly in the Bill the Galactic Hero books, but sometimes in the Stainless Steel Rat books and also in Captive Universe. Possibly more.
They are herbivores. These books have one of the most well thought out societies I have ever read. If you havn't read them, do so.
Make Room! Make Room!. A wonderful book. Very scary to read during a drought.
Food made from algae. Unlike the movie, in the book "Make Room! Make Room!", soylent really is soy and lentils, or other non-meat protein sources.

Sex. 'Bill never realized that sex was the cause of it all' One of my favorite first lines.
To see if God exists. This is a very powerful story. The moral of the story is much like the Star Trek Prime Directive. The priest shouldn't have interfered.
