Nevada is God's country. The woman in the story was selling a pack of cigarettes to a "pallid young man". The phrase (in all caps) on her shirt was NEVADA IS GOD'S COUNTRY.
I would love to find a pair of Chattery Teeth described in this story!
Tales From the Darkside. Spielberg rejected this story, so Stephen King took it to Richard Rubinstein who had a series called "Tales from the Darkside." Rubinstein bought the story the day he read it and it was later aired on this syndicated series.
Rock and Roll Heaven, Oregon. Mary and Clark left Portland and got lost -- Eventually after traveling from dirt road to paved road continuously, they saw a sign that said "Welcome to Rock and Roll Heaven, Ore."
Lovely place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there...
It lifted off from the ground and blasted into the night. After the children locked "Daddy Lew" in the house on third floor, the kids bolted from house to see lift off. This house rose slowly and then gathered speed. It then "blasted" away. There is a great picture depicting this scene in the novel.

England. From the very beginning of this story, there is talk about London. I also read that Stephen King was inspired to write this story while visiting Peter Straub while he was living in England.

Janis Joplin. Born Janis Lyn Joplin on January 14,1943 and passing into Rock and Roll Heaven, Oregon on October 4, 1970, she is the redheaded waitress with the "booze and cigarettes" voice that Mary recognises in the diner.

Violet. Violet Mitla, who worked as a dental assistant, wasn't a fan of Jeopardy. We learn this on the first page of the story, when she waits until Jeopardy is about to start before going to the store for ice-cream.

Arc of descent. "Bubba" Robinson, as he is referred to by his highway repair colleagues, is focussed on having his revenge on the man who is responsible for the death of his wife Elizabeth. As it states in the beginning, revenge is a dish best served cold.

Alzheimer's Disease. Bobby Fornoy noticed that the citizens of La Plata Texas had markedly lower crime statistics than anybody would predict, so he set out to find out why. There was a protein in the water there that helped keep people calm. Bobby and his brother Howard (Bow-Wow) isolate the protein, synthesize the protein, and arrange to have a great deal of it transported and loaded into a volcano. When the volcano erupts, it distributes the protein over the planet and takes effect on people all over the world. Unfortunately, the protein causes Alzheimer's Disease which they do not discover until afterwards.

N101BL. N101BL is the call-sign of the Cessna Skymaster 337 piloted by The Night Flyer, who often gives his name to control towers as Dwight Renfield. Renfield, of course, features in the novel "Dracula".

Chicken Noodle. Kind that comes in the can.. Jack Pace was a man with simple tastes. He liked "Chicken Noodle. Kind that comes in the can." Maddie went back to the store the next day and bought the whole case of soup. This was before Jack died at sea, and then came back to visit Maddie.

Bryan Adams. A cassette case on the dashboard of the car belonged to the album "Reckless" by Bryan Adams. The wind-up teeth killed and then disposed of Bryan Adams, and then made their way back to the gas station where Bill had bought them. When Bill went back nine months later, the teeth were waiting for him. The lady behind the counter stated she has saved them for him, as she remembered he had bought them for his son.
Long time, Real time, My Pretty Pony time. Grandpa tries to explain to a young Clive that people's perspective of time changes over the course of their lives. He compares time to a pony, that will run away before you know it. Clive learns that the only way to keep time in check is to use the phrase "My Pretty Pony".
The group between the smokers and the non-smokers. Brandon Pearson tries to quit smoking when his daughter is born, and uses nicotine replacement patches. He finds that he is unable to completely kick the habit, so he gives up the patches and only has a couple of cigarettes per day. This group of people who are neither smokers or non-smokers are the ones to see the Batmen. In true Stephen King fashion, the Batmen are not at all friendly.

Harp. PC Farnham disappeared after Doris Freeman reported her husband missing. He simply walked out of the door of the police station never to be seen again. We are not told what happens to him, but I've always assumed that he wandered into Crouch End Town and met up with the Blind Piper. PC Vetter passed away after retiring from the constabulary, and was found dead with a can of his beloved Harp in his hand.
