Three members of the Parrado family are aboard the flight; siblings Susana and Nando, and their mother Eugenia. Who are sitting together? | What Do You Remember From "Alive"?

Susana and Eugenia. Susana admires the mountains and points them out to her mother. Eugenia doesn't want to look at them because they look "like big teeth". She gets out a box of chocolates instead. This shows us where some of the food comes from. Later, Eugenia looks to Nando for reassurance about the turbulence. This establishes who Nando is. Ethan Hawke plays Nando, Ele Keats plays Susana, and Jan D'Arcy plays Eugenia.

The tail and the right wing. Several passengers and the steward are lost out the back of the cabin before the plane hits the ground. Later in the film some of the survivors go on expeditions to find missing pieces of the airplane.
Nando Parrado. Alex, played by Silvio Pollio, is killed in the crash. Roberto (Josh Hamilton) and Roy (Kevin Breznahan) survive uninjured and struggle to care for the others. Nando (Ethan Hawke) is knocked unconscious. Several other survivors tend carefully to Nando, thus saving his life. Nando later repays the favor by being the one who hikes out of the mountains to summon rescuers.

Roberto Canessa and Gustavo Zerbino. We find out that Zerbino (David Kriegel) is a medical student immediately after the crash, when he exclaims that he'd only been in medical school for six months. Canessa (Josh Hamilton) identifies himself as a medical student when he confronts the mechanic who stole Susana Parrado's coat.
Coche Inciarte salvages his guitar from the wreckage and bides his time playing on the one remaining string. What does another survivor ask him to play? | What Do You Remember From "Alive"?
|
Flight of the Bumblebee. Coche is played by Gordon Currie. His response can't be repeated on a family-oriented site! This moment serves to show that the survivors manage to keep a sense of humor even in their terrible situation.
Water. Canessa (Josh Hamilton) fills a handkerchief with snow and gives it to the pilot (Michael Sicoly) to suck on. After moistening his mouth, the pilot asks for his bag because he wants his gun. Canessa refuses, because as a Catholic he can't take part in a mercy killing. The fact that the pilot survives is important, because he also tells the survivors what he thinks their location is. He is wrong, which is why the plane crashed, and why it is so much further to Chile than the survivors anticipate.
The mechanic. The mechanic (José Zúñiga), survives until the avalanche, but clearly his mind has come unhinged. The mechanic tells the other survivors that the batteries, that they think they can use to operate the radio, are in the tail. This leads to the expeditions to the tail, and to Nando's decision to make a sleeping bag with insulation from the tail.
Plenty of cigarettes. They find an entire suitcase full of cigarettes. The survivors later use cigarettes as candles in snowball "birthday cakes" to observe their birthdays during the ordeal.
