Justin Theroux. Theroux, a native of Washington, D.C., portrayed Timothy Bryce in "American Psycho". Timothy and Patrick attended a club where the former enjoyed a little bit of cocaine after claiming it was like a millimeter of sweetener. Patrick told Timothy that smoking would help them feel relaxed. A gentleman leaned over to ask that the two men keep their voices down, which led to Timothy getting irate at the man. Later on, Timothy was out with Patrick and Craig while at a restaurant when he told Patrick how much he disliked the place. He wanted to know what kept Patrick from securing a reservation at Dorsia, leading Craig to joke about Patrick not pleasing that restaurant's maitre d'. Theroux had guest starring stints on the TV series "Alias", "Sex and the City" and "Ally McBeal".
Josh Lucas. Lucas, born on June 20th, 1971 in Little Rock, Arkansas, was cast as Craig McDermott. Craig spoke with Patrick and several other friends at a restaurant once when Patrick brought up a disturbing subject about a serial killer who rose to prominence in the 1950s in Wisconsin. Patrick mentioned the murderer's name as Ed Gein and then asked all his friends, including Craig, if they knew about his most famous quote. Craig told Patrick to just say what quote it was, which Patrick did, and the gentlemen chuckled at the twisted humor in Ed Gein's statement. At a later meeting while having drinks, Craig chuckled with Patrick and other friends while he overheard an acquaintance complain about an order of dry beers. Lucas starred in the movies "A Beautiful Mind", "Life As We Know It" and "Glory Road".
Guinevere Turner. Turner, born in 1968 in Boston, Massachusetts, landed the role of Elizabeth. Christie, Elizabeth and Patrick spent some time at Patrick's place when their discussion turned into music facts. Patrick stated Whitney Houston's self titled album proved a success by having four number one singles. Elizabeth laughed at the thought of a man such as Patrick enjoying her music but he stuck to his guns, defending Whitney's songs as sometimes delivering powerful messages. One example Patrick provided was her hit called "The Greatest Love of All", which spoke about the need to empathize with others as a way to improve one's own self worth and dignity. Elizabeth asked about Christie so Patrick claimed she was a cousin of his who hailed from France. Turner had roles in the short films "Rick and Steve the Happiest Gay Couple in All the World", "Frozen Smile" and "Dani and Alice".
Reese Witherspoon. Witherspoon, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, portrayed Evelyn Williams. Evelyn was engaged to Patrick and rode with him in a car to a restaurant while discussing what candies she wanted to have at their wedding. In a voiceover, Patrick expressed annoyance over her talking while he attempted to listen to some music. Patrick told Evelyn he was concerned there would not be enough time for him to help plan the wedding due to the many hours he spent at work. Evelyn informed him that he could take as much time off as he wanted only for Patrick to tell her that was not an option. Evelyn commented on how Patrick seemed to dislike his job a lot and advised him to resign. Patrick insisted on working where he was so he could fit in with other serious businessmen. Evelyn and Patrick attended a Christmas related function together. Witherspoon was seen in the movies "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde", "Four Christmases" and "Sweet Home Alabama".
Cara Seyour. Seymour played Christie in "American Psycho". Patrick picked up Christie one night on the street corner and took her to a place where she relaxed in a bathtub. As she rested up, he asked her to keep specific parts of her body very clean so she began to wash herself real good while Patrick took a call. Upon hanging up the phone, he asked her to get up and dry off so they could entertain guests who were about to arrive. Christie heard Patrick falsely identify himself as "Paul" to the two guests. When they spoke at his home, Patrick informed Christie that he worked on Wall Street for a company called Pierce and Pierce while she stated what an exquisitely beautiful place he had. When she asked how much his home cost, Patrick did not give her any specifics aside from the fact he paid a lot for it. Seymour had roles in the films "Beyond the Fire", "The Notorious Betty Page" and "Gangs of New York".
Willem Dafoe. Dafoe, born on July 22nd, 1955 in Appleton, Wisconsin, was cast as Detective Donald Kimball. Having interrupted a business call, Detective Kimball sat down in Patrick's office and quickly stated it was his fault for visiting him on such short notice. Patrick mentioned it was no problem at all, given that the call involved business problems he would rather take his mind off at the moment. Detective Kimball stated he had been retained by Meredith Powell to personally look into the disappearance of Paul Allen. He informed Patrick that the family didn't want much to be said about Paul out of respect for privacy. Detective Kimball proceeded to ask Patrick questions about Paul so as to aid him in discovering Paul's whereabouts. Donald mentioned he last heard through a source that Paul was spotted in London but required verification about that possibility. Dafoe was a part of the cast of the movies "Spider-Man", "Speed 2: Cruise Control" and "Inside Man". In 1987, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for the movie "Platoon", but lost to Michael Caine for "Hannah and her Sisters". Other Oscar nominees for Best Supporting Actor that year were Tom Berenger for "Platoon", Denholm Elliott for "A Room with a View" and Dennis Hopper for "Hoosiers".
