Auntie Mame
23 Beekman Place. Mame re-decorates her place in every new phase of Patrick's upbringing with the exception of her time in The Great Depression. Her strangest decor was during her hosting of the intimate family dinner mentioned above. The decor was created by the designer Yule Oolu and included live goldfish in the hanging lamps at the front door.
Strained Honey. Gloria and Patrick would break off their engagement after Mame's intimate family dinner goes awry.
Vera: "Spirits!"
Mame: "Can I interest you in a drink?"
Vera: "Anything but rum. I've just come from this dreadful party where they served daquiries made with honey."
Claude: "What!?"
Agnes Gooch and Pegeen Ryan. Agnes Gooch would later marry the book's co-author, Bryan O'Banyon. Pegeen would go on to marry Mame's nephew, Patrick.
Vera Charles. Vera Charles would later exclaim, at the announcement of the publishing of Mame's memoirs, '...Such wonderful parties...and now I'm going to find out how they all ended.'
He falls off a cliff. After Beau's death, Mame travels the world revisiting the places she and Beau went. He meets his doom while trying to snap a picture of Mame on the Matterhorn.
Meditation. Mame joins a fox hunt at Beau's ranch with no clue on how a horse is ridden. She becomes stuck and eventually gets thrown from Meditation, destroying the local sheriff's car and catching the fox at the same time.
Beauregard Jackson Pickett-Burnside. Mame and Beau first meet when Mame is flat broke and working at Macy's during Christmas in the middle of The Depression.

and most poor suckers are starving to death. Although Lucille Ball also starred in a version of 'Auntie Mame', her flare for this famous line could not nearly match the enthusiasm of Rosalind.
1928 - 1946. 1928 is shown in the last will and testament, as well as in the newspaper Norah and Patrick were reading on the way to Mame's apartment after his father's death. 1946 is shown in the letter that Mame wrote Patrick and his wife, Pegeen, from India.
Brian O'Bannion. Patrick's friend from school arranged for Mr. O'Bannion to work with Mame.
Gloria. Gloria and Patrick met through Dwight Babcock. She calls Mr. Babcock, "Uncle Dwight."
Roller Skates. He wanted to buy 24 skates for orphans.
R.H. Macy and Company. She found this job in the newspaper. She worked during the pre-Christmas period.
Vera Charles. Patrick would call her "Auntie Vera". She would spend the night in Mame's guest room after Mame's parties.

Edwin. His name is mentioned at the very beginning of the movie in the last will and testament.
New York City. She lives at #3 Beekman Place, in New York City.
Lindsey Woolsey. Mame is married to "Uncle Lindsey" as she refers to him in her telegram to Patrick and Pegeen, just prior to her brief return from India, where Lindsey is studying yoga. Mame's only other marriage in the film was to Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside, or "Uncle Beau".
sponge. Lindsey Woolsey suggests Agnes soak up everything Mame says, like a "sponge". Upon meeting Agnes, Mame asks, "What's THAT"? Agnes says, "I'm your SPONGE!"

9. On a "bright blue October day," Mame explains to Lindsey Woolsey in the elevator, "Don't you realize I've had to pick up for Patrick's ten neglected years in a matter of months? Dr. Spock says it's an impossibility." They are to learn shortly on this same day that the stock market has crashed. It's 1929. Since Nora Muldoon introduces Patrick to Mame on October 1, 1928, it has been over 12 months since his arrival -- during which time he has to have had a birthday and turned 10. Thus, he was 9 when he first met Mame.
Jan Handzlik dropped out of acting entirely and went on to become an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and later a celebrated criminal defense attorney in Los Angeles.
Jerry Herman. Jerry Herman also wrote the score and lyrics for "Hello, Dolly".
None of these. Betty Comden and Adolph Green wrote the screenplay for "Auntie Mame". Among their long line of credits are "On the Town", "Wonderful Town", and "Singin' in the Rain".
Warner Brothers. Warner Brothers released "Auntie Mame", shot in a process called Technirama, which was W-B's proprietary name for its wide-screen process.

Edwin Dennis and radio announcer.. Morton DaCosta plays Edwin Dennis in the opening voice-over, reading and signing his will. He is also the radio announcer who says, "Merry Christmas, from Manny, Moe and Jack's credit clothiers", as Mame and household leave for dinner with Beauregard Burnside.
Patrick Dennis. "Patrick Dennis", author of the book and Auntie Mame's fictional nephew, is a pseudonym for author Edward Everett Tanner, III.
