Detective Mike Lowrey. Mike is the ladies man in the movie, but he has to pretend to be a married man. He must switch places with Marcus when they are around the only eyewitness to a crime involving the murder of one of Mike's lady friends.
Marcus Burnett (played by Martin Lawrence) is Mike's partner, Captain Howard (played by Joe Pantoliano) is the boss, and Jojo (played by Michael Imperioli) is the guy Marcus and Mike question.
Maxine. Mike asks Max to help her out with finding some information on where some stolen drugs are and she gets shot. Max is a hooker and goes to the house of one of the guys who took part in stealing all of the heroin from the police station. Eventually, she is shot and killed by the main bad guy, Fouchet.
Miami. Mike and Marcus both work for the Miami Police Department. They specialize in dealing with drug cases and busts. This time around, they are after 100 million dollars worth of heroin.
drugs. Over 100 million dollars worth of heroin is stolen from the Miami Police Department. That is the biggest bust of Mike and Marcus' career and if they don't find it, their department will be shut down.

Internal Affairs. When the drugs are stolen, Internal Affairs say that they are going to shut Mike and Marcus' department down if they don't find the drugs in 72 hours. The reason why Internal Affairs gets involved is because someone from inside their department gives the bad guys information on how to steal all of the drugs.

Club Hell. They go to Club Hell where Julie follows them and tries to shoot one of the bad guys that killed Maxine. Mike and Marcus stop her from shooting him, but they end up in a big chase scene through Miami.
Fouchet. Fouchet is the one who makes the plans to break in and steal all the drugs from the police department. He is a drug kingpin and is trying to sell the drugs for a lot of money.
