Blazing Saddles .
What does it say on the back of the KKK robes that Sheriff Bart and the Waco Kid put on to infiltrate Hedley Lamarr's Army? | 'Blazing Saddles' for Diehards
|
We'll head them off at the pass.. Mr. Taggert- 'We'll head them off at the pass!' H.L.- 'Head them off at the pass? I hate that cliche!'
Gov William J. Le Petomane Thruway. Mel Brooks's character, Gov William J. Le Petomane was named after a French 'Fart Expert.'
Teutonic Titwillow. In a fit of rage, Hedley Lamarr later calls her a Teutonic Twat.
rape. H.L.- 'Qualifications?' Villain- 'Rape, murder, arson and rape.' H.L.- 'You said rape twice.' Villain- 'I like rape.' H.L.- 'Charming.'
When the villians are beating up a little old lady in Rock Ridge, she looks straight into the camera and says 'Have you ever seen such _______'? | 'Blazing Saddles' for Diehards

Laurel and Hardy. 'As Honorary Chairman of the Welcoming Committee, it is my privilege to extend a Laurel and Hardy handshake to our new...'
Complete the quote: 'The way you're lolly-gaggin' around with them picks and them shovels, why you'd think it was a hundred and twenty degrees. Can't be more than...?' | 'Blazing Saddles' for Diehards

What does Hedley Lamarr do to Taggart when Taggart says 'We'll head them off at the pass'? | Blazing Saddles
|
Shoots him in the foot for using a cliche. Bart hits Taggart with a shovel after getting out of the {quicksand;} Hedley loses his Froggie in the {tub;} and Bart invents the candygram to get the whup of Mongo ('and they probably won't give me the credit for it'.) Well, that was it - hope you enjoyed it. I managed to do the whole thing without referring once to the famous campfire scene (Damn!). I wanted to get more pithy, but this is a family site.
What is the surname of all the residents of Rock Ridge (except Bart and Jim)? | Blazing Saddles
|
Johnson. Howard, Van and Gabby are among the illustrious residents of the Warner Brothers backlot.
What is the name of Bart's friend from the railroad, who has a shaven head and wears a brown bowler (or Derby) hat (Character name)? | Blazing Saddles
|
Charlie. I may be sad, but I always get a bit of a lump in my throat when Bart rides back into the railroad camp for the first time as a sheriff - one of the nice things about this film is as well as being very funny, you actually come to care about the central characters.
How many flavours of ice cream are available in the ice cream store in the town of Rock Ridge? | Blazing Saddles
|
One. Howard Johnson's parlour sells 1 flavour.
An easy one to start - which actor portrays Jim, the 'Waco Kid'? | Blazing Saddles
|
Gene Wilder. Marty Feldman was in 'Young Frankenstein' with Gene Wilder, but was not involved in Blazing Saddles. Mel Brooks directed and co-wrote the film, and appeared as the Governor and an Indian Chief. Cleavon Little was Bart, the Sheriff and hero of the film.
Raisinettes. After trying to get into the cinema with a student card, Hedley goes to the snack counter and asks for Raisinettes, just as a herd of cows stampede through the cinema in the background.
10 cents. Another very funny scene of the movie! Bart, Mongo and Jim put the toll booth in place so the people of Rock Ridge have more time to create cardboard cutouts of people in the 'fake' Rock Ridge. It works too, as Taggart's men pay to get through rather than just riding around.
Jesse Owens. Bart says this after being 'busted' in-line at Hedley's criminal signing-on point. Jesse Owens won four gold medals for the USA in the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
Lili Von Shtupp. Boston-born Madeline Kahn has starred in over 15 films since her screen debut in 1968, which include Mel Brooks' film "Young Frankenstein."
Apple Pie. The little old lady knocks at his window after Bart deals with Mongo. She's thanking Bart for the way he handled the Mongo situation.
Yes and No. This is also a very funny scene. Mongo rides into town, smashes the town up, and Bart blows him up with a candygram. The extra funny bit in this scenario is when the man comes into the sheriff's office and says, "Sheriff, Mongo's in town, he's..." then turns to Bart and says the same thing. It's even funnier when he opens the door and shouts "the fool's gonna...I mean the sheriff's gonna do it."
11. This is probably the most famous scene of the film. There are 11 men sitting around the fire eating beans and making crude noises. Mongo is sat alone and away from the main fire -- so isn't one of the eleven.
At Taggart's campfire, what is the instruction shown beneath the sign that read "administrative personnel only" that was hanging on the fence? | Ablaze of 'Blazing Saddles'
|
Knock on barbed wire before entering. In this scene, the camera pans across the horses, to the sign, and then onto the men seated around the campfire.
When?. Bart says this to Jim, after Jim swigs down half a bottle of whiskey and woke up in a jail cell.
When Bart arrives on the podium and prepares to get out his scroll from the governor, a woman faints in front of him. What colour is her dress? | Ablaze of 'Blazing Saddles'
|
Blue. This occurs when Bart says "... me while I whip this out" everyone screams and the woman in blue faints and is caught by some of the band members. Bart takes out the scroll and reads "by the power invested in me, by the honorable William J Le Petomane, I hereby assume the duties of the office of sheriff in and for the township of Rock Ridge."
Cleavon Little. Cleavon Little, born in 1939, died of cancer in 1992. He starred in over 35 films and television series, and guest starred in around 20 TV shows.
Miss Stein. I think her name is only mentioned once in the movie - the scene of the governor's (William J Le Petomane) meeting, and the governor giving Miss Stein one of the bat and ball toys "one for Miss Stein, my beloved secretary."
Gucci. The scene starts with a close-up shot of Bart's satchel, and the camera pulls out to reveal Bart in his sheriff's uniform.
What were the directions Hedley gave Taggart in his office, when Taggart jumped up and down excitedly, clicking his fingers? | Ablaze of 'Blazing Saddles'
|
Down the hall and to the left. This is the scene in which Taggart and Hedley discuss what to do to drive the people out of the township of Rock Ridge. Taggart jumps up and down excitedly, clicking his fingers, and Hedley says 'down the hall to the left'
Harriett. This is where Bart pulls his gun on himself and walks to the sheriff's office pleading everyone to help him. Harriett says, "isn't anybody gonna help that poor man" to which someone says 'hush Harriett that's a sure way to get him killed' Bart makes it into the office and says to the camera, "oh baby you are so talented, and they are so dumb."
$400. Taggart stated, "that was lucky, almost lost a $400 handcart" which was soon followed by the very funny scene where Bart hits the back of Taggart's head with the shovel, causing Taggart to say "tell him I said...ouch."
