Cat in the Hat, The
The Mother of all messes. The Mother of all messes had purple goop coming out of it. Yuck!
The Cat and his friends (Thing 1 and Thing 2) helped clean up the mess before mum got back from work. Conrad was involved because he took the lock off the crate, creating the Mother of all messes.
Phunometer. The Cat brought the phunometer with him, to test what the children were. Sally was a control freak and Conrad was a rule breaker.
Bo Welch. Bo Welch kept making mistakes and telling the cat to act out the wrong things. This was in the outakes on the special features.
He also directed "The Tick" and "Secret Agent Man".
18. The Cat was breaking the rules because he wanted to prove to the children that they could be naughty as well as good.
Light Green. Conrad was sitting on a light green chair. Sally was sitting on a dark green chair. It was raining outside and they were bored.
Mike Myers. The children met the Cat in the broom closet. The Cat helped the children to be perfect.
Green and Purple. Sally was a girl who liked everything to be perfect. She wore purple and green throughout the film.
Rhode Island. This is a very funny part of the movie, because the three main characters are driving the car at the same time. The car keeps changing direction and in the middle of this confusion, just when the car is about about to crash in a truck, the Cat notices that this truck's license plate is from Rhode Island!
Anville. This is said at the very beginning of the movie, in the narrated introduction.
Joan. Her last name is Walden. We hear Mom's name several time in the movie. Two characters who call Mom by her first name are Mr. Humberfoob, her boss at the real estate agency and Larry, her boyfriend.
"City Morgue". Just when the fish is calculating how many rules the Cat has violated so far, the phone rings and the Cat answers "City Morgue"! According to the fish, this is the 18th house rule that the Cat breaks.
Birds. At that point of the movie, the whole house is transformed into complete nonsense and we can clearly see big birds, with books for wings, passing by. One of the kids remarks that these are Mom's cooking books.
Made in the Philippines. Conrad doesn't believe the Cat's big red wooden crate comes from another world because it says "Made in the Philippines", but the Cat insists that it is "not in these Philippines".
No chewing tobacco. She says this when Sally asks to have some rules too. Conrad's rules are "No playing ball in the house", "No fighting" and "No answering the phone: 'City Morgue'".
Super. The Super Luxurious Omnidirectional Watchamajigger, or S.L.O.W. is the Cat's vehicle. He says that this name was better than the first one, which was Super Hydraulic Instantaneous Transporter.
