James Brolin . Nope, not Paul Reubens. Brolin played Pee Wee for about a minute at the end of "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" when Hollywood made a picture about Pee Wee. Morgan Fairchild played Dottie. Brolin is the father of actor Josh Brolin and of course husband of Barbra, without the "a."
France. Frank was in a French prison, very sick and seemingly near death when Hanratty found him. France was Frank's mom's native country.
Riverbend. Hanratty went to question Frank's dad and saw a letter from Frank with the return address, which led him and his men to Frank's apartment where they almost got him.
Perry Mason. This led to a problem in the courtroom similar to those faced by Michael Richards in "Trial and Error."
Miami International. Frank also decoyed the agents out of position by reporting himself as sitting in a car outside the terminal!
FBI. Hanratty eventually had a small army of helpers and finally became Frank's boss.
Brenda. Brenda Strong apparently ratted on Frank to the authorites after she found out he was a fake. She was played by Amy Adams.
Martin Sheen . In "Apocalypse," Sheen played Captain Willard, who was assigned to assassinate Col. Kurtz (Marlon Brando) in the remote jungles of Viet Nam. In "Wall Street," he played Carl Fox, the owner of a small company in danger of being taken over by Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas in an Oscar-winning role). Sheen's son Charlie played whiz Bud Fox, Gekko's boot licker. Martin is also dad to Emilio Estevez. Martin's original name was Raoul Estevez.

Christopher Walken . In "Annie Hall," Walken played Annie's suicidal brother Duane who wanted to drive into the headlights of oncoming traffic. In "Deer Hunter" he was Nick, the soldier who became a "star" of Russian roulette in Viet Nam.

Goldfinger. Miami Beach's Fontainebleau Hotel and Gert Frobe as Goldfinger are shown. Frobe was skewered by Mike Myers in "Goldmember."
Pan American. The scene where Frank puts the Pan Am stickers on the phony checks was hilarious.
Joe Garagiola and Kitty Carlisle. "To Tell the Truth" was a hit show from the amazing team of Goodson and Todman. Garagiola was already famous as a Major League catcher. Carlisle was a movie actress and wife of playwright/producer Moss Hart.
To Tell the Truth. "To Tell the Truth" had a panel who questioned 3 people, the actual interesting person and two "impostors." In Frank's case, the other two were impostors pretending to be an impostor! John Glenn was on "Name that Tune" before he was famous.
substitute teacher. As a sub myself, I really enjoyed this scene where new student Frank takes over the class and whips them into shape. His father just smiled when he heard about it. Tom Berenger starred in "The Substitute."
Frank William Abagnale Jr.. Frank Abagnale is a real person, born in 1948. He was a consultant on the film.
No. Although it shows him as being on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List in the movie, the real Frank Abagnale Jr. says that he never was. That list was reserved for very violent criminals that posed a threat to society and the movie added it for effect.
The FBI asked him to work for them using his check fraud expertise to capture other criminals. He now works for many Fortune 500 companies and governmental agencies making millions designing checks that can't be counterfieted and numerous fraud prevention programs. He pulled up the toilet and climbed down to the landing gear where he jumped off upon landing. He went to the bathroom because he was going to be sick upon finding out that his dad was dead. When he didn't come out for a long time, Carl went in and discovered what he had done.
In a building in France printing checks. He was caught in the French town where his mother grew up.
He didn't cheat. Carl repeatedly asked him how he cheated and after holding back, Frank Jr. informed him that he did not cheat. He studied for two weeks and passed honestly.

Nurse in a hospital. She was the very naïve, young worker that was crying due to a doctor yelling at her about a mistake she made. Frank Jr. saw her vulnerabilty and jumped on it.
French. He did it very well for one week.
CEO of a major company. He also portrayed a French teacher in the movie.
IRS was after him. He battled with the IRS his entire life and Frank Jr. wanted to help his dad get out of his troubles.
His parents were getting a divorce and he had to choose whom he would live with. He was so distraught about this that he just took off and his escapades started.

His mom's house.. He found out that his mom married his dad's friend and they had a daughter together.
The F.B.I. He saw a chance to escape to be a fake pilot again but Hanratty caught him. Needless to say, Frank gave it up and came back to work for the FBI. He still works there, specializing in bank fraud.
He died.. He had an accident and killed himself. Frank, upon hearing the news, immediately went into the lavatory of the plane and escaped by unbolting the toilet seat.
France. He found him working in his mother's home village in France. He was put in a French prison, and frim there Hanratty had to take him back home to the United States.
Perry Mason. For his first case the judge loudly criticized him for his lack of knowledege about law.
