Skull Cowboy. 'I decided to cut the Skull Cowboy for a variety of reasons,' explains director Alex Proyas, 'but chiefly because the scenes became somewhat redundant. It is true, however, that I wasn't happy with the effect -- the technique used to create the cowboy. By this, I don't mean to diminish Michael Berryman's (the actor who played the Skull Cowboy) work in any way -- I felt I hadn't given him the visual support he needed to bring this character to life convincingly.'

A gang of teenage kids walked in and robbed the place. When Skank got uppity, they shot him in the leg.. If you pay really close attention, you will notice he is hobbling on his shot leg before he actually got hit by the car.

Skull Cowboy told him he would if he pursued Sarah.. More specifically, he appeared to Eric on the church steps and said 'choose and be damned,' then crumbled away in a dust whirlwind. He says this because Eric cannot be permitted to keep interfering with the mortal world like this. After Eric chooses to rescue Sarah, he is forced to face Top Dollar as a mortal.
